I have to agree with your description of hte TL forum. Since the TL is/was one of the cars I'm considering buying, I visited Acura-tl.com quite often. I found some, certainly not all, members to be argumentative, hostile, and closed-minded. Many TL forum members were helpful, however. In any event, I have found the members on this forum to be friendly, helpful, informed, and willing to go out of their way to find an answer. For this I am quite grateful. Even when I've made an obvious re-post, an offense that would put me in front of a firing squad on most other forums, or put a thread in the wrong forum, all of you have, while laughing your buttocks off, gently pushed me in the right direction. Thanks!

 

The stupidest thing is that this hostility propagates itself on the roads. 04 TL drivers were the biggest jerks to me on the road ever since i got the G. Trying to prove something I guess.

It's a Nissan/Infiniti thing. My father drives a G35, and I come on here to help him look some things up. What I see on these is very reminiscent of what I've seen on other Nissan forums like SR20forum.com and Maxima.org. Great communities.

I'll make a University analogy. I go to the University of Texas, and people tell me that our arch rival is Texas A&M, but you don't find nearly as many UT students spouting anti-Aggie invective as you do A&M students with large, crappy-football-team chips on their shoulders.

Whatever. Acuras are wrong-wheel drive, and A&M is Pleasantville with lots of beer.

Let me just say, I just smoked a TL yesterday, it was brand new, and although I am a chick, so was the driver of the TL, so we have that going against us. I passed her, not even thinking anything about it, then while I was at cruise (80mph) she came flying by me. I took that as it was on, she was ahead of me, I dropped the 6mt in 4th, she saw me coming and had nothing for me. Ok, granted, I have a few mods on my car, but even though it was a chick, it was fun to blow her doors off. I like the TL, it looks good, but I have to say, if they're bashing the G, they obviously haven't done their research and it's mostly out of fear.

UP until 2 weeks ago I was dead set on getting a TL, picked one out and was haggling with the sales guy. So I've spent more then a few weeks over at the TL forum.

As luck would have it I stopped in at the Infiniti dealer last week and drove the G35 6mt. Wow what a difference. While I like the styling of the TL and the interior. Driving it and then driving the G35 is a night and day experience. The G drives sooo much better!! All I need to do now is find my car and I'm a purchasing.
