I always wondered too. I assume it's somewhere in the front as it always rises from heat soak if i park for a while and cools off when i drive

Found this via google search: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_is_t..._sedan_located

Q:Where is the exterior air temperature sensor for the 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan located?

A: between front bumper and radiator. they're known to go bad. 4yr 60k warranty on this part and all other parts on your g35 as well that aren't considered "wearable" like window/seat motors and audio/electronic parts. diagnostics consist simply of comparing reading with other g35s and the dealer will replace it

i wish there was a way to speed up the sensor reporting time. My black car can sit outside on a 95 degree day and the temp will display 130 degrees then slowly 10 minutes later display the correct temp.

I'm in Phoenix AZ. Mine normally shows like 115, but thats cuz its really that hot.

If i'm parked sometime it will go up to 125 or so...but it only takes a min or two for it to settle to the real outside temp.

I'm guessing the proper name for this is the ambient temp sensor - $58.55
