Usually Valero 91, they are everywhere and usually a few cents cheaper. I'll also use Union 76 91.

Sunoco GT100.

Sunoco 93 and 94 Octane. I do half and half. I'm partial to Sunoco since I've always used their 100 octane racing fuel in my cars and motorcycles at the track. Sunoco fuels are, indeed, diferent as anybody in the racing community (East coast) will tell you. All the rest, as Tech45 has said, basically come outta the same bowl of soup JBX

As far as bang for the buck, Taco Bell is hard to beat for gas...

Since gas prices are pretty high, I first fill the tank half full with water via a garden hose--heck the way I see it--I am saving 50% on fuel. And, no I have not voided the warranty--blah, blah, blah. Car runs fine.

Just Kidding--I fill the car with good ole pemex--shipped straight from Mexico--25% water/75% gasoline.

Seriously--The closest/most convenient gas station at the time I need gas. I alternate between 89 and 93 octane.

According to the American Petroleum Institute, 'no name' gas (like Costco) is simply surplus brand name gas. So it could come from Shell, Exxon, etc.

As Lil alluded to, the biggest difference is that it doesn't have the same additives/detergents.

Regardless, all gas has to meet the same Gov't quality guidelines (i.e it's not watered down as some may think).

Here in San Diego, Costco is by far the cheapest gas. Then, if you use your Costco Amex, you save another 1%.

I always use premium unleaded gas 91. Most of the time from 76, but sometimes also from Chevron or Mobil, very rarely Shell.

Shell 91 always so far. Reasons are that it is close to home; fairly low price near my neighborhood; got a shell citibank card which gives me 5% back every month; and that gas station is still using the older pump so it pumps slower. I think somehow it pumps more gasoline and less "gas" or "air" like other faster pumps. I tried different stations before, and this one gave me the longest range and I suspect it's the air in the fast pump.

Owner's manual for my '04 G35 Sedan says to use 91 octane on 1 page, 87 on the next page. I've been running 87 so far, no problems. I know another guy with a coupe running 87. If I were him, I'd run 91 since he has the 280 h.p. engine. Is this 87 going to give me problems?

Uh yuh..it's meant for lower compression engines designed to run it.

For instance, if I use the card to buy 2,000 worth of stuff (and pay it off monthly of course), I can get $100 per month back ? Sounds too good to be true. Must mean for gas only...even then, that's a sweet deal.

I have been using Chevron for years now. When I got this G35, I simply switched to 91 octane (surpreme) than the regular 87.

Chevron is the best.
