new noise sounds like supercharger whine

My 04 Sedan Auto with about 81k miles just started making this noise. It is 100% stock. No mods whatsoever. In 3rd, 4th, and 5th under about 30-60% throttle I started getting this whining sound. I only hear it around 2-4k rpms. I am worried it's the transmission. Anyone else have this noise?

Does anyone on this forum actually have any useful information? I appreciate the attempts at humor but I am looking for some assistance on the problem.

Nobody can diagnose a sound over the internetS

If you can explain it better...maybe get a video of it, then we might be able to figure something out.

You're expecting us to have an idea of what a "whine" sounds like to you. it could be the wheels, tires, brakes, axle, hub assembly, transmission, driveshaft, and several other possibilities.

Help us help you.

Well if it happens under 30-60% throttle between 2-4k rpms then we can probably rule out wheels, tires, axle, hub.. it's either intake, trans, or one of the accessories like p/s pump, water pump, alternator. I also said it sounds like a supercharger whine. That is a pretty standard sound. Mainly I am looking for someone else who has experianced this on their G and can point me towards what the problem was. I don't need anyone to guess or fill the board with jokes.

Does it only happen when the A/C is on? A/C compressor?

A/C can be off or on. It makes the same noise either way.

I looked around on it tonight. P/S and Transmission fluid are clean and smell ok. Also everything on the intake looks good.

Did you get your belts replaced lately. An overtightened drive belt can do that. I was originally thinking A/C belt but if it happens all the time, could be the drive belt. Check the tension by trying to twist it. It should rotate between 45-90 degrees at the longest span if tension is within rage.

It could be your Throw Out Bearing.
