wheel alignment problem or something else?

I have noticed some minor problems that arent too bad but maybe it is for the long run?
I noticed on a clean straight road my car will go either left or right very slightly when no hands on the wheel. I heard if this happens it needs an alignment? and when i brake you can feel and see the steering go to the left VERY slightly. Just wondering if I am making it sound worse then it really is?
Any advice?

the steering wheel moving when you hit the brakes may mean your pads need replacement. or it could be the alignment. you could also have radial pull. answer: just get an alignment and then you will have eliminated one possibility.

My sedan also pulls sometimes while braking, but I've noticed it is more attributed to grooves in the road. If you have directional tires, they tend to wander on pavement.

The wider the front tires, the more the tires will follow the groves int he road. I used to have 255/40/18's on the front of my Fox body mustang and it would follow the groves in the road. I switched to 235/40/18's with a little bit of a stretch since my wheels were 8.5" wide and it drove MUCH better.

You're letting the road drive your car. Unless you're on perfectly even, flat, smooth roads, you can't tell really. And, I'd recommend against driving with no hands

The road has a crown on it to sheet rain off to the sides. It's very tough to find a perfectly level road...usually the middle lanes of a highway are.

If the car pulls when you brakes, it could be a sign of a sticking caliper piston or some other brake issue
