2003 G35 Sedan Thinking About Buying

Hey,

I spoke to my mechanic because I was looking for a Lexus IS300 01-05 and we couldn't find a good one. He had a G35 Sedan. I've never driven one ... it needed some body work but he said he wouldn't charge me.

He gave me the price of 8,200 for a Dark Blue/Black Leather Interior 2003 G35 with 86,000 miles on it. I was wondering your recommendations of the 03 G35 and whether that is a good deal or not. Am a little reluctant to buy a high mileage engine, however it is 6 years old ... that's many miles for 6 years.

What do you think?

Miles are fine as long as its been taken care of. Also a much better car then the IS. Lexus doesn't make nice cars until you get into the GS line.
Since it needs body work I would pass. If its been used and beat up then you know it hasn't been taken care of well. Otherwise it would have been fixed and looking good. I would keep looking and find one you like that is clean and ready to go.

well no ... the car was most likely purchased at an auction from an insurance company .. the body damage i speak of was minor ... just scratches and scrapes on the passenger side of the car with minor dents that have been since compounded and fixed and the right headlight was cracked and replaced

i should carfax it either way

Just for your info that price is really very low for a G and also use Autocheck rather than carfax you will thank me.

I respectfully disagree. I own an '07 Lexus IS250 AWD along with my '06 G35x. While slow as hell, the quality it much better on the Lexus.

thats not a bad price .

you should drive it to see how you like it

carfax and autocheck it for sure.

and have a second mechanic come take a look at it while on your test ride .

to get his input ..

just dont rush into anything without making sure its what you want .. not just because its there ..

the bose systems in the g35 are good for stock speakers in my opinion. the price is fairly low compared to how others are pricing there at least in CA, but like everyone else is saying carfax it and everything and have another mechanic take a look at it to make sure everything is working good.

but good luck with your decision none the less.
