HID's
I just looked at 'em. How did you replace the existing connector? How'd you keep the end cap in place? I'm not going to put this in now, but it's definitely something to keep in mind for the future. Got any pics of it from the inside (the wheel well, not the car).
did you look at the slim ballast HID kit for $65 was $70??? if you select our fog size, it just plugs right in. I just fitted the ballast into my wheel well and zip tied it out of the way (it wont fit threw the opening)
Yep, that's the one I looked at, although I'd get the Hi/Lo option for another $25. My question was about the cap that goes on the back of the headlight assembly, the one you unscrew to get to the connector. Its got the wires running through it to the connector that goes on the H4 bulb. If you're replacing the bulb and connector, how do you put the cap back on? And what do you do with the stock connector? Is it cut off?
Check out Gargan's setup here and tell me if it's similar to yours. https://g35driver.com/forums/lightin...dlights-4.html

I didnt put the cap back on. It wouldnt fit so i just kinda set it there. I zip-tied the actual ballast off to the side. Hope this helps. When you buy the kit, and get in there, you will understand what im talking about. I dont remember EXACTLY how i did it, so i feel like not a whole lotta help.
if you want the cap back on, you need to dremel out a hole that can fit the wires through. It's what I did. After I got the wires through, I put some waterproof sticky tac stuff around the hole to seal it up. Worked very well.
Personally in my g35, I've been through stock halogen headlights, 2 sets of OEM HID headlights, tsx projector headlights, 8000k setup, and a 6000k/3000k setup. I've tried many different varieties and looks. The projectors obviously had the best output and look, obviously. But it costs a lot to do it. Stick to oem HID's (4300k). I've had so many different setups and OEM works the best.

lol they don't bother me that much. I think 6k is the best if you want to get some color. Has a slight hint of blue, but it doesn't take away tooo much from stock. I think 6k was bout 20% less output or soemthing like that.
the only thing is the reflectors in the sedan make the hids seem like less watt, so there's not really any hint of blue with 6000, heck i have 8000 and theyre still not blue, theyre pure white, 8000 on the g35 look like 6500 in most cars
I won't go as high as 8000K, there's just too much loss in useable lumens. The human eye just can't see/focus on that much blue light, so a decent amount of your output isn't visible. The reflectors may change the appearance of the light, but they can't change the actual color spectrum. I want my lights to be functional first and foremost, so I might go to a 6000K, but nothing higher.
he's right, i have 8000k on ines too but it look like it output 6000k, its like pure white, but just a tiny i mean very very very tiny of blue in it, but it looks good on a sedan. lol
I would contact them. HI/Lo on reflector HID means HID for LO and a separate halogen bulb for the HI.
Yeah, I've got a lot of questions before I do it, and I'm not doing it for a while, if ever. It's just nice to know there's a relatively inexpensive option out there to upgrade the Fog/High beams without doing a much more expensive (and difficult) projector retrofit. My car's a daily driver, and I don't currently have a 2nd car, so any projects like this pretty much have to be done in a 24-36 hour period, and that's a quick turn-around for a full retrofit.
