S.O.B! I just realized one of my lowbeams is out! I was just about to split my cases open and re-paint the housings... guess I'll have to wait until I get new bulbs and just do it all at once. Good thing the "fog lights" or whatever they're called make it look like I don't have a headlight out so I don't think I'll get pulled over in the mean time haha.
In the process of doing mine right now, spraying the first one and taking a break right now.
Great Write up and thanks for it, I have been so chicken **** to try it but your DIY made it seem so simple.
Whoever is planning this do not skip TAPING YOUR FENDERS, I am glad I did'nt. I was about to skip this thinking it was just precautionary but it should be a step cause you will scratch a fender if you dont. Especially if your pulling the bumper off yourself like I was.

^Glad you are finding it to be useful
A few that have used it have skipped that step and even with two people, they still scratched up their fenders. It really is a must unless you like the scratched paint look
Post pics when you are done.

Did mine yesterday along with new HID kits. Also polished the exterior cover which made it hard to take pics without a polarizing filter. I need to get the fitment right on passenger side.

Looks amazing dude! What kinda paint did you use? I want to re-do mine and have them look exactly like yours, except for the clearance strip, I painted that piece of plastic so it's solid haha.
Oh, and what did you use to polish the lenses?

It was a spur of the moment thing. I started installing the HIDs and said f it, it's a long weekend might as well. So I went to PepBoys
and bought black Duplicolor primer and their black "Truck, Van & SUV" paint. It's gloss black, but not overly shiny, exactly what I wanted. And I used Janvil polish on the lenses.
nice diy g35papa! ive been getting alot of pms about this too and i know exactly where to send them now lol.
just to add on this thread, an advice for sealing up your headlights to make a better fit so no water gets in, i use C-Clamps to reseal the lense back together. i find that sometimes heating it and even with the screws certain spots will not have a tight fit. these clamps been very helpful but make sure when you put it on u either buy the clamps with a rubber on the end of it that will protect the lense or use a cloth. you dont want to scratch up your lights lol

Duplicolor black sandable primer for the base followed by Duplicolor Bumper Coating...also black. It's a dark black matte finish. You won't be disappointed
^Nice work on the lights Gargan. They came out great.
