I was looking at the sound system for my 2005 G35 Sedan, and I have no idea what this accessory hole is for. I checked some online parts supply stores and there is nothing listed that looks like it fits in that hole. It definitely is meant to house something, I just don't know what. Anyone know?

It is located just on the parcel shelf bracket, just in front of the Bose base speaker.

Does yours have the carpet right there to cover the metal, or is it just open? mine is just open and im wondering if its just my car.

 

mine is open... no carpet. The only thing I can think of... really reaching here, is that it is for something like a back up camera that is only available outside of N. America... say Japan? Anyone know? This is really bugging me......
