Nightmare stories about brakes
I'm reading lots of complaints about the 2004 G35 Sedan's brakes needing to be replaced every 15-25k miles, and loads of dust being left on the wheels that need constant washing/cleaning. Is this true?
I'm at 61,XXX miles and still on original brakes. Starting to squeak though.
I do almost nothing but highway driving and the exit ramps are elevated on all exits. Never need to hit the brakes.

The '05 X brakes are the same as the 03/04. I have 50K miles on my current set and they need changing soon but that's not bad. See my sig for what I'm running. THere are also other good choices out there at reasonable prices.
I relpaced pads twice and rotors once - all before 36K under warranty... since then I've upgraded pads and use different rotors...
The OEM pads dust like crazy, but I love the way they bite! Its a trade off... most people (including me) dont think the nice brake feel is worth the dusting - there are other pads out there that dont dust.

I have 32k miles on my 05x. Replaced the front pads (didn't resurface rotors) with Hawks at 17k. The rear is still the original with some life left.
Do you guys resurface rotors or just change them out? My rotors are still original.

Hawk HB268F.665 (D815) and HB370F.559 (D905) fit the front and rear of my 2004 G35x perfectly. I very much enjoy their progressive behavior.
