I just got the spoiler I ordered off ebay and I don't know how I am to install it. They gave me this black locator strips I think they are called? Are they the same as a template? What does the template for a 2005 g35x sedan look like?

 

If they are what i think they are, you insert them into the holes for the spoiler and then put the spoiler on your trunk. Then you line it up where you want and tape the strips down. Remove the spoiler...and now you can see where you drill.

If you still are hesitant...have a body shop do it for you

ok nvm, i found it what is it, its the drill guides. I'm curious, how do you know where to drill so the hole underneath the trunk and the hole you drill on top of your trunk align, or do they not have to align? so you can screw and tighten the spoiler down.

 

lol dude my best advice is to get a body shop to do it for you. Cause you don't sound very confident in yourself and a lack of knowledge of the skillz necessary to properly align and drill the holes for the spoiler. Plus it's much better with an extra pair of hand. This involve drilling holes into the trunk hood, there is no room for mistake once u drill.

 

i want to let the shop do it, but the thing is my dad is a mechanic and he can do body also, and he doesn't like installing spoiler, he done it before but he said he like bs's other people's spoiler, but he doesn't wanna bs mine. I told him ill get the shop and he's like no you ain't paying for it and I am not giving you the money for it, so it's a bitch. He already took the car today and said he will install and he came back hes like there is no template or "map". I told him that the strips are drill guides and you need to do some measuring and we got into a fight yeah. Anyone recorded a video of them installing a spoiler on there g35 sedan so i can show my friggin dad.
