My sedan seems slow!

Are you spinning??
I was mashing the brake, revving up to maybe 2000 and letting off the brake on the final yellow ball. Was giving me good r/t's and consistent 60's.
If i didn't have a full tank of gas and 50 pounds of tools in the trunk i bet i could have done better. I wasn't planning on racing, but my buddy needed a stand-in in his charity race event. I almost won it too but i had to drop out to head home for a date

Yes, you are correct. If you ever raise your rev limiter to around 7000rpms, you'll probably be able to snake through in 3rd or shifting just before the finish. That's is assuming you're making typical NA power numbers.

According to the attached spreadsheet, mine is the 3.538. Download it and compare the speedometer/tachometer readings to your own car to determine which you have. You can enter any values you like for ratios, tires, etc. (It will always be a few percent off since our tachometers are not very accurate.)

Not necessarily. If my particular year Mustang ('88 LX 5.0L ) was bone factory stock, a 6MT would prob give it a run and/or beat it. I had vids of my AWD G35 beating friends in their V8 Mustangs. Drivetrain advancements have come a long way when V6's can run what v8's ran 10-15 years ago.
Fortunately for me, my Mustang is not stock But they are two different animals. When i get behind the wheel of my v8 on the weekends, i'm in love with the torque and instant throttle response and v8 sounds. When i get back into my G35, i love all the creature comforts, cozy ride and smooth top end acceleration. Completely different cars, and yet i love them both equally well. I've raced Mustangs in my G35 and won, and i've raced G35's in my Mustang and won.
