Boss,
The trick is to shift into 'neutral' then rev to about 6000rpm. As soon as you see the 'Green' on the Christmas Tree ... shift into 'D'. That'll give you a HARD launch!
... kidding! only kidding folks!!!!!!! =P

THX723...LMAO....and here I was all excited to read your cool trick ya donkey! lol That might be good for one hard launch huh. ;-)
iLL...If you were on 16's or 17's (like a normal person ;-)...JK) you would have ate him from the get go I bet. If you are running 14.1 at 99 on a GTECH figure a 14.3 at 96+ at the track...course if you went out and got some 16s and some lighter tires too you would be haulin. Glad you guys had SAFE fun, and I am glad you are now :-) at your G again!!!

Yea the top end is serious in my car now, i love it again
I guess i jsut got so use to going fast without anyone beside me, so it started looking slow, the mind plays so many tricks lol... Im going to get a set of 16's for next spring, any recommendations on lightweight inexpensive rims?? 14.3 would be amazing, then maybe a 14.1 with my car gutted somewhat and on 19's i wonder if we could break 13's?? I think so.

I rather belatedly see you have an auto tranny, too. I have a tough time breaking my tires loose at all, wet or dry. I have all but given up hope for a hard launch. Running through water does not seem to help, either. Your 16" wheels help a lot, I'm sure. Maybe a higher final drive ratio, a higher-stall TC, N2O, or a JATO bottle would help, too?
Do you remove all the loose articles from your car before you race: floor mats, glove box and center console contents, jack & spare, etc.?
Another thread mentioned water/methanol injection, which will add power to even a NA set-up. You can insulate the reservoir and put some ice in with the water/methanol.
What psi do you have in your rear tires? Fronts? Lower in back and higher in front will help with traction and weight transfer.
I used to pull my A/C fuse and then turn the A/C switch to "on". The A/C didn't work, but the radiator fan(s) did. That really seemed to cool things down faster. Not sure whether that works on our G35 5ATs.
That high rev to 6,000 rpms in N with a sudden shift to D...? Oh, Lord! You AND your car better be wearing a diaper if you're going to try that. Good luck in your hunt for 13's.

He was just kidding about the neutral drop start...and thanks for the good luck...I just ripped a 13.7 with my GTech

Boss i need to break 13's lol, where are my 16's!?!??!?! What exactly do you have over me in mods or anythign that would make you a lot quicker than me to get u a 13.7 on Gtech, JW? Also with my wider tires and rims i couldnt break the tires loose with my intake, but now with my mods by just power breaking slightly i break them loose and around turns fish tailing even going in a straight line and turning the wheel and pounching it in first or second will get me sideways for a second lol, i need struts!!! Also int he rain, i can go slow and pucnh the throttle and slip will come on and u feel it alot.

Ya... but at LACR we have to put up with posting 15.1's (unless you are clint)
We're gonna have to get a run together at Carlsbad.... we need some 1/4 mile runs at less than nosebleed altitude.

JATO = Jet Assisted Take Off
As it was meant to be used....

As it was not meant to be used...

Another thread mentioned water/methanol injection:
check this thread out
Since LACR temps are usually in the 90's to 100, I actually run my heater full blast on the return and while staged.. killing the air as i pull past the water box. The idea is bring down the temps, as the cost of my personal comfort....but hey, it's dry heat.
Try GurgenPB's VDC/ABS switch bypass to defeat the Brake LSD. I'm gonna talk him into dropping by this week to help me install this one.
Cheers, ted

With the Drag Radials I can only induce a burnout going around a corner...in a straight line it gives you whiplash with power breaking!
My mods are all listed...I don't hide anything...We're all on the same team and I want everyone who wants to go faster to know how to get there.
I believe you just needed the Crawford and TS Reflash...then you would be ahead of me so to speak b/c I am all stock in the exhaust dept. abeit the Coupe Midpipe for sound.

That's a riot...hey, how do you post multiple pics at once? (Do you host them)
I have the VDC/ABS shut off toggle switch...my buddy wired one into a factory looking spot just south of where the VDC/Trunk/Interior Light Dimmer is and I believe it works...I could swear that I still feel a retardation of power, but that just may be the engine spooling up...lately I feel like it's working better...when I did the GTech Run last night it pulled like a freight train and when I was practicing that with my wife in the car she was getting whiplash...lol
I run the heat on full blast right up until the staging lane so we are 100% on the same page. I also crack the hood right after I do a run and take the corner and immediately put the heat on high...I just throw the windows all down and it's not too bad...I am usually sweating to death by then anyway so what's some more heat...NASCAR drivers lose something like 30lbs a race from sweating so I figure I can suck it up for a bit...lol...then inb/t runs the hood is open the whole time. When I really mean business a cooler and ice bags are present too.
