I was looking into the other options a while back, (including the awesome but yet extremely pricey recaros that mustang posted). I ended up with the coupe seats, and I love it.

Even had money left over from the budget to customize it

Yeah they fit fine, they sit lower than the stock seats but not bad. If you are short they may be an issue and need spaced up.

The stock Z seats need the brackets modified a little to fit.

Oh ok gotcha, im fine im 6'5. I was actually worrying about hitting my head, good thing that the majority of these racing seats sit low. Thats how i have my seats now all the way down and all the way back.

And I'll bet your right knee still bangs the center console. I miss the days when cars didn't have center consoles, just open under the dash and the stick shift came out of the tunnel on the floor. Then you had lots of room for us long leggers.

lol true, yep my right leg/knee is actually resting on it all the time. I am about an inch away from hitting the steering wheel as well, there has been times when the steering wheel actually rubbed my knee while making a turn and the steering wheel is all the way up. I wonder if guys my height can even fit in a racing seat.

I think racing seats would benefit you... They sit lower and further back usually. Kind of exactly what you need being 6'5"

Yeah, they would help you fit in the car better. Are you also wide? >34" waist? If so, make sure the seats you get fit you. Many racing seats are made for very skinny people. I am 5'11" 180 and only have room to grow 15-20lbs before my seats would be uncomfortable.

I've been eyeballing a set of Bride Ergo II's for over a year now, and just can't bring myself to drop 2g's on a pair of seats. Unfortunately, my wheat leather OEM seats are just starting to...."show" the 96k miles worth of butt-abuse they have on them.

I was wondering why Bride hadn't been mentioned, until I saw someone else ask the same question earlier. They, in my opinion, are a phenomenal seat. I've seen them take lots of abuse, and they're decently comfortable, in terms of a true race-seat!

Yup, they are the all leather version.

I'd much rather have a set of RS4 Recaro seats...

OR

even the back seats look great...

My friend's S4's seats are a lot like those. For oem seats they are great. They were a little big for me but I would not have complained to have my G come with something more like that!

My brother had Corbeau A4 seats in his '97 Maxima. They were originally the black cloth that was like a giant lint roller.

He had them redone in black/silver pleather to try to match his silver Momo steering wheel and black interior. Loud yes...but the car was a rolling billboard for his business. At least he got it to dyno 360hp/370ftlb to the wheels prior to selling it.

They were a bit snug and we're 5'10"/180-190. They recommend the A4 Wide if you're over a 34" waist. You can feel the metal hoop they use for the side bolsters if you push really hard but I survived driving it 400 miles to a show and back lowered 3.5" on 19"/35 series tires.

Before buying racing seats, consider the type of driving you do. Racing seats are great for race cars, but during daily driving they can be quite taxing. They're typically much firmer and thinly padded therefore you feel a lot more vibration/harshness through the seat, they're far more restrictive, they tend to have over the should blind spots because they're designed to hold a helmeted head in place, and they tend to sit a bit lower.

If you're going to do this, pay the money and do it right. If it were me, I'd just buy coupe seats or have my OEM seats bolstered for more support. I've already bolstered my lower cushion for more support. The upper seat would require a new cover, but should be relatively easy for a shop to do.

My car is my daily driver and only car. In fact I'm making a 1,000 mile road trip this weekend.
