Beep

My car beeps once about every 3-5 minutes, a short beep like when you press a button on a microwave. No lights come on on the dash. Everything works fine. 13k miles 05 sedan. Ideas why?

DON'T DRIVE IT, IT'S A BOMB.

I have no idea, is it your phone? Is there a microwave in the back seat?

Holy low kms though, 4 years old and it's barely broken in!

After the weekend since last post, the bomb has not exploded yet, and no one has tracked me by GPS device...hmmm. It beeps every 6 minutes, sounds like from the dash or driver front door area. Wish I had a microwave in there! But nope, it's from the car itself. I reset the ECU a month ago...?

Does it do it if you leave the car in the "ON" position without running?

Does it do it in the ACC position?

Does it do it when the car is off completely?

It beeps whether on or off completely, other than that hard to test since waiting 6 minutes between beeps.

Does it have a stock alarm or an aftermarket unit? Alarms used to make a beeping noise to warn people, but I didn't think they still did. What year is your Car?

Hmm, must be early cars. Mine (05) hasn't had the TPMS for 2 years and no beeping, just a light on the dash.

Wait. You say it does it whether the car is on or off? Sounds like an alarm.

Dammit. My wife played a joke on me. Thanks for your efforts to answer my question but she hid a beeping chip called an annoyatron in my car!!! It beeps at random intervals with the purpose of annoying and confusing you...beware sneaky wives/gf's....pretty funny actually but it definitely worked. I was annoyed for sure! Glad I didn't find the chip, I would have thought it was a bomb or tracking device. Now to plot my revenge.
