This Car is an Animal!!! 13.744 @ 104.86

I just went out with the new Gtech Comp Pro to get a quick feel of what the car would do since it's really nice outside and without even shifting to beat the band I just ripped off a

What RPMs do you hit the shifter up and at what rpms does the transmisson shift for all your shifts (i.e. 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4)?

I have the TS Reflash so Redline is now like 7200 for me...I shift each gear (Remember I am in an Automatic) in Manual Mode at like 6800 or so and it shifts pretty immediately.

Tell me what the different specs are for the TS and I will let you know which one I believe I have...;-)

I have the whole 350Z Thermostat and Gasket assembly...it's less than $25 if I recall...the NISMO thermostat is more, but unnecessary...I have the NISMO radiator cap just for show.

Re: This Car is an Animal!!! 13.744 @ 104.86

L-Spec is for changes to a piggy back ECU.

Limited Spec (L-SPEC) Flash Features
- 7100 Rev Limiter (500rpm Increase)
- Speed Limiter Removal
- Drive By Wire Re-mapping
- Stock Fuel, Timing and CVTCS map (no changes)

We all get the F-spec (Full Spec)
FEATURES:
REV limiter modification
A 7100 RPM (stock 6600 RPM) rev limit is set to take advantage of top end horsepower, while still providing a safe protection for the motor.

Speed Limiter Removal
The speed limiter is removed. The stock limiter was set at 234Km/h (146 MPH), so for all practical purposes, we could have left it alone. But we decided to remove it, just in case someone feels the need to go beyond that.

Ignition Timing Map Adjusted
There wasn’t much room for improvement at the bottom end since the ECU retards a lot of timing by using a feed back system in stock trim. So, we have added more timing at the mid range - higher end to take additional advantage of higher-octane gasoline. This aids in improving torque from 3000 rpm and up.

Fuel Map Adjusted
Stock fuel was set to detune the top end horsepower. We discovered that the car runs extremely rich after 5000 rpm. Air to Fuel ratio (A/F) of 10.5 was found right before the stock rev limiter kicks in. Cleary, Nissan was trying to detune the power output at higher rpm to discourage the driver from hitting the rev limiter. For the performance enthusiasts, however, this is unsatisfactory, so we set the A/F to 12.5 all the way to redline to provide adequate power gain while still maintaining a safe margin.

Drive By Wire Adjustment
Throught our testing we found, the drive by wire system was program to never fully open (throttle flap) when you smash the accelerator pedal. In fact, it actually closes the closer you get to the rev limiter, by as much as 20%. This restricts air into the motor and causes HP and Torque numbers to go down. We have remapped this setup so when you go wide open throttle, the throttle flap fully opens and STAYS open, increasing HP and Torque.

Adding to above modifications, a few other adjustments were made to other maps to enhance the feedback function which improves power, torque and drivability. The resulting achievement is a remarkable improvement in driving feel, which is more than what numbers alone can tell you. We are very satisfied with the results and are proud to release our TECHNOS ECU for this tuning-challenged ECU, blowing the lid off what was thought to be an automobile already running pretty near its maximum capability.

I believe it is for all G's.

There is a +/- variance on your speedo too, btw.

Re: This Car is an Animal!!! 13.744 @ 104.86

If you shift up in first at 6800 rpms it will shift by 7100 rpms? That's nice because with the stock 2004 ECU you must shift up to second at ~6000 rpms for it to shift at 6600 rpms. The 2-3 shift can be done at ~6400 rpms and it will shift around 6600 as well.

You are correct...I have only nicked the rev limiter once and ironically that was my best run ever...

Re: This Car is an Animal!!! 13.744 @ 104.86

Ted,

So if we have the F spec, and correct me if I am wrong, no one has the L spec, why are there two kinds? It seems from your very detailed description, that the only difference was in the subtle tuning they do to the timing, ignition and fuel.

I think it was carry over for the older Infiniti cars....and he has not removed it. Not only that, but let's say he starts modding the Stillen SC black box... then that would probably be charged as an "L-Spec"

Re: This Car is an Animal!!! 13.744 @ 104.86

The +/- Variance is due to OEM speedos having a variance as well as your 19" Monsters on there...so in essence you could have only been doing 137 or you could have been doing 141, etc...but for the 5AT Sedans (I believe Coupes too) the OEM shut off for fuel is 146...that is in many a magazine if you look at the test results summary page towards the back.
