VDC made my headlight go out, wtf?!

Tonight coming home from Fridays i took a cloverleaf to get onto the exit and comming out of the turn my VDC started to blip on SLIP while i was exiting the turn (it was VDC Off) and while it was SLIP SLIPing my drivers side headlight started to flicker then just cut out.

Power surge or whats the deal? Its an aftermarket bulb from DDMtuning.com and this is the second time a bulb has gone out on that side. The first time was when i was in Vegas.

Seems a bit odd 2 bulbs would go out on that side alone.

Probably a loose wire as you were spinning and/or hit a bump. My right headlight used to flicker once in a while on rough patches...

It must be because this is the second time. Seems a bit ridiculous.

Did you fix yours?

try removing the bulb and swapping it to your other side if you want to be sure it's the bulb, otherwise you can try and wiggle the wiring around behind the headlight and see if it cuts on

Hopefully it will be fixed when I get my car back from the autobody. They replaced both headlights...

Do you by chance have non OEM clear corners? I found out the those were causing a short & blowing out my aftermarket bulb on the left side. The bulb "harness" was cheap & caused a short. Got OEM cealr corners & haven't had an issue since. Knock on wood!

Jank,

I have had a problem with my driver's side HID going out, but it's not the bulb. The plug that powers the bulb will dislodge from the bulb for some reason and then the light doesn't work.

Solution? Taped some foam pellets on the back of the plastic cover that screws on to secure the plug tightly onto the bulb and no more problems.

I'll try that when i get home.

Not gonna swap out both sides. Too much of a PITA in this car considering you gotta pull the wheel and fender liner.

sounds more like a bump made a wire go loose, not vdc making your headlights go out.
