Ac/radio control unit

Does anyone know if the 03 G35 Sedan has the same AC/Radio Control unit as the 03 Coupe?

Whats happening is my radio display will turn off and the AC will automatically set itself to blow on Hi when this happens. Whenever this happens I can no longer control anything that has to do with radio or the AC. I can control the radio but only from the steering wheel. I took it to a mechanic and he said I may need a new control unit. Has anyone heard of or experienced this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Common problem on 03-04. You need to replace the headunit.

That happenened to my '03 sedan just recently. Like a lot af members here I upgraded the headunit and replaced the a/c controller with the jdm dual din dash finisher kit purchased from Riverside Infiniti. I had the dual climate control button and circuit board component from the oem a/c control desoldered and resoldered to the new jdm kit ( there is a sticky on this in the tech area to retain the dual climate control which the '03 jdm kit does not have ) Looks great with an improved sound quality. You can get the Metra dash kit with the dual ac button already in it but the color and buttons don't look exactly like oem. Take it to a reputable car audio shop, not the Infiniti dealer. Good luck.

there's a chance that it might not fit..
there are two versions of the frame.. the round button placement (DISC, FM/AM, TAPE, AUX) will tell all.. the placement could be DEAD CENTER or slightly below/off center..

Thanks. I'm taking it down to my mechanic today. I'll post the results soon.

If your upgrading the h/u with a new dash kit your going to need a new ac controller. The round buttons won't be on the JDM or Metra dual din dash kits. My JDM fits perfectly.

Got the car back today and everything seems to be working ok after the h/u swap from an 03 coupe to my 03 sedan. The only thing that isn't working is the in dash pop up navi screen. It just doesn't turn on for some reason. I had a friend pick the car up for me so I didn't notice it until I got the car back. I'm going to take it back tomm. Maybe they forgot to connect something. Is there any reason why it may not work?

It should be the same HU for both coupe and sedan, the only reason why I can see it not working is probably when they were taking it out they took off a switch and forgot to plug it back in, i checked behind there man, it gets pretty messy.

Guys, If i pull the fuse for the a/c (Don't know where it is, help!) will it cause anything else to stop working or cause any damage short term or long term?

only a temporary fix of course, until i have gathered all the necessary parts to do a DD conversion.

the radio and AC/heat controls are all on an integrated circuit. You need a new head unit to get functionality...or you can send yours in to be repaired. Although, the cost of repair is almost that of the JDM kit.

I know... I'm doing research into what HU i'm going to buy, but int he meantime the FULL blast AC is pissing me off and i want to pull the fuse for the a/c. Just wondering if this will mess anything up and where the correct fuse to pull is located.

If you pull the fuse, it will default the AC to something like 75 or so, whatever it is, it sucks.
If your problem is caused by the CD being jammed, check out my post here:
