Muffler advice...

I just got an 05 sedan muffler for my 03 sedan. It looks bigger and I'm having trouble finding bolts for it. Does anyone know if this fits properly anyway?

The 05 sedan muffler sounds way worse. Why the hell would you put that on your 03? The 05-06 guys usually buy ours because they sound better.

I couldn't find an '03. I currently have NO muffler! Sounds like the $450 HKS muffler sound. It's annoying, raspy, and loud... I'm going to stay on the lookout for an 03-04.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
1st off the HKS is not annoying, raspy, or loud in the opinion of many on this board myself included.

2nd, the 05-06 muffler bolts up to a completely different bracket than the 03-04 muffler does. Stick with your stock 03-04 and you'll be happy. You might try the 05-06 midpipe though. Sounds better on the 03-04 than the stock MP.

I'm basing my opinion of the HKS muffler sound off youtube videos. Plus, its chromed out, and I'm not really into chrome. I think it looks good sounds good, but I wouldn't put it on my car. Now what I WOULD put is a twin turbo! Those videos look sick!

well, someone thinks hks exhaust sound is annoying, raspy, or loud..
Even though most people like that sound.

anyway, it seems OP doesn't have any muffler.
I guess he should find a new 03-04 muffler or aftermarket muffler.
Or he can take the car to muffler shop to weld 05-06 muffler to his car..

05-06 mufflers do not bolt up to the 03-04 sedan.

I got 1 to fit and it sounds awesome...but you need to go to a muffler shop to have a mount welded onto your 05-06 muffler.

You can't simply just "buy a bolt" because tehre are no locations on 03-04 sedans to accomodate that bolt.

Off youtube?lol Wait til the day you hear it in person. It's not chromed out, it is stainless steel just how most aftermarket exhausts are made of. They are shiny as first, give it a month and they will look as dirty as your stock exhaust unless you clean them over and over.

I spraypainted mine black to minimize the bling. Just the tips are shiny, well dirty i should say.

Wow. HKS muffler is NOT raspy. not at all. Not with HFC. Not with headers. Not with headers and HFC.

No muffler sucks and in no way should be compared to the HKS. OP, you fail.

Sorry all, I had an HKS for about a month. While it wasn't raspy and the sound was exactly what I was looking for, it had an annoying drone under light throttle. So bad (to me), in fact, that I sold it and went back to stock. I just hit 95K miles this morning and I'm still on the original muffler. Still lovin' my car!
