A dealer would take my 05 G35 6mt with 29k miles as an even trade for his 02 E55 with 57k miles. (he's asking $15,500)
I've always wanted the huge torque of an E55 - drove one once and it was like lightning. The w210 body, engine and trans are known to be solid - even though they only come as an auto. What do you think?

Hell no. Wait til the first part fails on the MB and you have to pay out of pocket.
Do some research into common failures and costs to repair before deciding. Owning a benz out of warranty can be very expensive

your cars worth more then 15,500 if its in good shape, and what everyone else said.

I did a lot of research on E55's before I bought my G, and the word was that the 99-02 W210 E55's were really solid....so, I'm not sure what to believe. I do all my own work, so that helps. I know I can't afford to turbo my G, but man do I want more torque. Tough choice.
If you can afford to maintain it, go for it! Those things are great cars and fast as hell compared to a stock or mild modded G.
But if money is even a little tight don't bother. At that age it is going to need work here and there that will end up costing a TON.

M45 and Cts-v are good suggestions, although I would only consider the 2nd gen cadi or 2nd gen m45, which are out of price range still.
Seriously thinking I should get my torque fix a cheaper way, like buy a cheap early 70's muscle car (maverick or nova) and drop a huge v8 in it.
