This was by far the best upgrade done to my car....the sound if simply amazing....its SOO deep!!....it sounds like a V8 engine....i was thinking that the sound would be exaclty like the coupe....but it actaully sounds a little deeper ....for all you sedan owners seeking sound....this upgrade is a MUST have!!....also i noticed a slight increase in performance....the engine seems a little more free revving and the car picks up faster from 40 to 60.....plus i have the Z tube and Pop charger which makes the sound ever better....god i love my car!

 

Can you elaborate a bit? How much did it cost / did you install it yourself and if not, how much was the install / were there any fitment problems / do you have any other exhaust modifications / is the sound louder or just deeper / any chance of a dyno?

I bought it from a G35 coupe owner who changed his exhaust and he sold it to me for 150$ but you can buy a brand new one from mynismo.com for 235$ which really isnt bad at all considering that a new one runs around 360$.....This is a stock coupe part and i had it installed at performance nissan in duarte for 50$....install took the about 20 min and it fits right into place....its super simple to install as long and u can get under car safely and securely....the sound is Very Deep and not raspy....it mainly sounds different at 1000 - 2500 rpms....feels a little quicker too....i doubt it will void any warrantys because its a very harmless upgrade....plus its a stock infiniti part....if u add an intake with this combo you will love the Deep throaty exhaust note much like bmws and the g35 coupe....sounda classy and not ricey at all....also the new midpipe is VERY light comapred to the sedan midpipe...i would say about 30 pounds lighter.....with this mod there really is no need for a new muffler....a new Y pipe would be kool though.....i hope i answered all your questions....

 

I experimented with this mod by putting it on my 6MT sedan with a NFC Y-pipe. Can't say I cared for the resulting sound at all as it droned too much. I'll stick with my custom 22" Magnaflow resonator mid-pipe for now.

I have had my coupe midpipe for about 2 weeks now. Sounds a little tinny, thought the butt dyno showed some low end improvement, but now it feels the same. I bought my pipe for $50. Installed it myself in about an hour. I also have Z tube, K&N and opened up airbox. Don't pay more than $100 for a used one.

 

For me it was droning noticeably after I put on the HKS muffler. I switched back to the stock sedan midpipe and kept the HKS on. Now all is well. Deeper tone when you punch it but no droning.

or, replace whole mid-pipe section with a straight pipe and knock off about 20lbs ! I weighed the stock mid-pipe(bathroom scale), yikes, 30lbs!
