First time in the almost 3 years of ownership that my car has gotten a booboo...

My car made it over 6300 miles, across the damn country, several trips around midwest, and even a couple twisty cruises, all without a scratch.

Well, tonight i come home, tired, just drove 300miles, come in, everyones quiet... wierdly quiet... so i'm like "ok, whatever, im gonna go outside and look at my car." so i go outside, and come back inside within 30 seconds yelling, "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO MY BUMPER?!" and my sister is like "Damn, you'r quick."

The story is, an hour after i left 2 weeks ago, a cooler fell off the shelf and landed on my car... fvcking great. Took a big *** chunk of paint off my bumper (paint was brittle) and now i can see the plastic underneath.

Just effing great. And the best part is NOBODY bothered to tell me.

Oh well, my parents are going to pay for it because they parked it under the shelf. I needed to get a repaint anyways. My front end took a beating going to Cali and back haha.

I don't want a Kurookie. My car isnt extreme enough for one. Just gonna repaint the front because it is going to need to be done.

Sounds to me like they didnt tell you for a reason. Because you re-acted the way you did. I wouldnt have been that upset about it considering they are your parents and would pay for it anyway.

They don't tell me because they know i am **** as hell about this car and would be probably turning around coming back to inspect the damage.

If so much as a scratch lands on this car, i will notice it. Sorry if i like to take care of the things i own. And it pisses me off when people dont even let me know when something happens to a major part of my life that i worked hard for and want to keep looking pristine and perfect.

I'm all for taking care of the things you own sir. I come from a household where your parents are to be respected no matter what reason. So for me, if my dad damaged my car, it wouldnt be a problem because he would take care of it for me without me screaming and yelling. Thats all I'm saying, no disrespect. I know you care alot about your car, as do i my car.

It wasn't my mom i was yelling at. My parents have been gone for 2 weeks now. It was my sister. I don't yell at my parents lol.

Sorry to hear. I used to get very angry about (any negative)condition of my car and would react very harshly if something happened. I go to great lengths to keep my cars in good shape. I've not had so much as one ding on my G in the 5 yrs I've owned it. I did have someone tap it lightly a couple yrs ago in a parking lot and they did not leave a note. It cost me 1 grand to get it fixed b/c my deductible is 1 grand to save money. That really pissed me off. I got it fixed by a highend shop that did work for me in the past. Problem solved but it pissed me off. My wife recently scuffed a wheel on my G, pissed me off. I might refinish it later. I think now in my mid thirties, I still get angry I just don't let it get too out of control. Not saying that you are though. Just making a comment. I have no bikes, ice chests or anything hanging on the sides or front of the garage. Just one enclosed storage area, bench and small fridge just for that very reason. G/L getting it fixed and make sure you select a good p&b shop!

^We have some good friends of my moms that run the local body shop at our Chevy Dealer 1 mile from our house. They have always fixed our stuff (and installed my front lip) so next spring i'll just make an appointment with them.
