Tapping into cig lighter for power - which wire is + ?

Question Tapping into cig lighter for power - which wire is + ?
I'm trying to tap into the cig lighter in the center console of my '06 sedan, and I can't figure out with one is + DC power.

There's 4 leads that connect to the lighter itself. All 4 are black (thanks for that, Nissan). Two are thicker and connect to the bottom of the lighter. Two are smaller and connect into a plug adjacent to the the lighter.

Which one is my power wire???

The one that has 12v when you turn the ignition on... Seriously, invest in a multi-meter or a test light.

Thanks for the help, Captain Obvious. I was hoping to get this fixed today, and all the tool stores are closed today for the holiday.

the larger wires should be the NEG...they should connect to the OUTSIDE

I'd still verify it though

I don't think the gauge of wires is different between the wires. You need a multi-meter dude.

+ is the Black wire.
