Good or Bad Deal? (Factory wheels)

A buddy of mine back in So.cal bought 19x8.5 coupe wheels for his 05 that he is selling. He offered me the set for $1,600.00 but when I looked around online it seemed I could find the same set for cheaper (not sure if the website's are reliable though). Any help would be great, Thanks.

I've seen sets on driver and CL going for $600 - $1000, dependent on condition, tire tread remaining, shipping, etc.

You should probably research out the FS threads in the marketplace for the OEM 19"s to see what the going market rate is, and decide for yourself whether your buddy is giving you a good deal or hosing you.

Its just the Wheels, no rubber they are brand new never mounted. I have browsed the FS section but I have yet to find a full set for sale that are not staggered (not looking for a staggered setup I have awd and dont want to deal with the tires) but I did find a website that offers the set for 1300 new

I believe all coupe 19" are staggered, unless you buy 4 fronts or 4 rears

i guess he's not much of a buddy. i just paid $680CDN for a mint set of coupe 19's with as-new OEM tires. and that's in Vancouver where coupe rays are very hard to come by.

ya, the 19x8.5 are rears, so he must have 4. 1600 is pretty high especially with no tires. Then again, if you were to buy them at the dealership they would probably charge you like $2400.

Here in Canada, the dealer quoted me $1100 a wheel.... I wasn't actually going to buy them from a dealer I just wanted to know. That's crazy.

Canucklehead, you got a craaaaazy deal man. That is cheap as hell.

I would say pay no more than $1200 with decent rubber and MINT wheels.

Mine were 800 Powdercoated.. And to the OP, im running the staggered coupe wheels on my 04X, as long as you run the same tire size it doesnt matter with these wheels. Ive got 245-40-19 on mine all around for almost a year now and ive been perfect. Just look around, youll find some.. doesnt seem like a good buddy lol

I found a set (no rubber) for 950 but they are staggered if I run 225/40 on the front and 245/40 on the rear would I be safe?

humm if they are close to diameter to each other you will be fine running staggered. But for a 225/40 245/40 there is one guy that ran that and had problems. I am running 225/40 255/35 and have no problem. I even got a flat on my way to Cali from Wa and ran my full size spare and had no problems.
