Shaved trunk ticketed...
Actually, i think New York City tracks all info on the parking ticket, so such a thing would get dismissed.

Unfortunately that is NYC...unsure if the rest of the state is like that.
Most other states track by the plate # only.
How much is the ticket for anyway? Is it even worth the time? Is it a $20 ticket? Or like a $200 handicapped parking spot ticket?

How much was the ticket?
If the ticket is cheap just forget about it.
But if its expensive, I would try to fight it. It might be dismissed. You never know.
Im not sure about your location but here in NY we have our registration on the windshield and says the year, make, and model of the car.

pics or it didn't happen. parking tickets are written by what comes up by your registration. not by what is or is not on your trunk/steering wheel/grille. so if the officer DID actually write a ticket for an acura, more than likely it was for an acura two spots in front of you. people do this all the time in boston, i've had it happen to me. shove a ticket under someone elses wiper and hope for the best. check that it matches up with your plate. if by some WEIRD chance it does, it means that there was a glitch in the RMV system or the uplink between that and the patrolmans car, and either way, very winnable.
Lol wow, that guy shouldn't be a cop. Where did it say kenstyle though?
I don't know how the make being wrong works but my Dad got pulled over in his Lincoln truck that is actually a F150. He has all the Lincoln emblems, wheels, grill, chrome, etc... The only thing that doesn't look like a Lincoln is the steering wheel. Anyway, the cop pulled him over for speeding, he waked up and asked if it was a lincoln cause the registration came back as a Ford. My Dad explained and the cop said he's gonna let him go with a warning because he had written the ticket as a Lincoln. Makes you think... One more good reason to rebadge or shave your emblems.
I'm thinking a Skyline emblem might throw them off LOL!
But in your case, he should have pulled the registration off the tag and get the make and model. He was lazy. You could prolly fight it.

I had this happen to me in NYC. I have a Nissan Titan and the ticket said Toyota. The front of my truck is debaged, but none of the other badges are off.
They had the correct plate number.
I appealed it and won. New York City has their regulations clearly posted on their website. I've appealed 3 - 4 tickets, and won each time!
Once at home (jersey) I parked over night on the street which is not allowed. I was ticketed, but the offer wrote 4 PM instead of 4 AM on the ticket. I called borough hall to appeal the ticket and the lady said don't be a wise ***. I wasn't being one! I can't remember what ultimately happened with that one though. It was a $35 ticket, so I think I may have just paid it online after a few months. No notices were sent to me, but whenever I'd search my plate under the online payment system it would come up.
I say go ahead and appeal it. Tell them the officer clearly ticketed the wrong vehicle as you drive an Infiniti and not an Acura. Leave it at that.

in most cases, i think when cops issue you a ticket they run your plates to see if they can boot you or not and etc. the cop could just right down your make and model from there or run your VIN to get it.
