Goodybye, old friends... G35 has been replaced...

So, it was a good 14 months of owning my 2005 Infiniti G35 Sedan 6MT. However, in the end, I realized that the car was not designed for what I enjoyed doing; driving on a track. Yes, she held her own in HPDE1, 2, and 3. But, it was just going to cost way too much and still be limited in ability.

So..... I've moved on to my new platform, the GR. Specifically, a 2008 Subaru Impreza STI. She's Aspen White (of course) and the hatchback body has really grown on me. I've already done one track event (HPDE3 @ Phoenix International Raceway), only three weeks after purchase. Since purchase, she already has the following mods:

Perrin 25mm F Adjustable Swaybar
Perrin F Swaybar Endlinks
Perrin 22mm R Adjustable Swaybar
Perrin R Adjustable Swaybar Endlinks
Perrin Downpipe
Perrin CAI
Perrin Quad-Tip 3" Exhaust (on backorder, damnit).
Cobb Accessport / Perrin Stage2 Map
Taillight overlays w/ Reverse Cutout (gets rid of the horrid OEM clear look)
Headlight overlays (Ice Blue)
Perrin 2" Super Stubby Antenna

Old car:

New car: (with stock wheels - Gold BBS) (Then with my Z Track Wheels)

So, it's been fun guys...

I told you the track wheels would look awesome!

They look like the wheels on Ken Block's car.

I sold the G for payoff (around $16,300). Oh well.

I absolutely LOVE driving the STI. Hahaha. The cool noises it makes... The way I get pushed back into the seat... And I STILL get better gas mileage than the G. Hahaha. Too much fun!

oh man sorry to see you go, your sedan was super clean!

you definitely got the right car for what you're looking for! I've been in my friend's 500 AWHP STI and I felt the ride was very....."rough". Do they come stock like that or is it because of his suspension? It handled like a dream, but on the freeway it was a bit uncomfortable!

I'm imprezed (heh see what I did there. ) with how well it wears the Z wheels. They're a really nice match. I would probably do a white or red pinstripe, but honestly they look fine without it too.

The Z wheels are only for the track, so I'm not really concerned with how they look. But, I think they look badass.

As far as insurance goes, it's about the same. It's about 140/month for my STI and a daily 2006 Nissan Sentra. Single, 29/yr old male, own my own home.

I have new daily wheels coming too... Track wheels are 18x8.5 + 33, stock BBS are 18x8.5 +55 (weak sauce). New wheels are going to be 18x9 +30...
