my point is - just ignore it... he isn't anyone to get worked up over.

that's great. I'm happy for you. At least there is something you can do right j/k

I'm glad it worked out for you the way it did. Nice to know that you don't have to do no drilling and none of that stuff.

Don't take it personally man...............I wasn't the one who called you an idiot

We all make dumb mistakes.
I figured that if you managed to brake 6 bolts, telling you how to pull one out isn't the best thing.

Fortunately everything has worked out for the better.

Sorry if my comment has offended you in any way.

Have fun owning a G.

All the torque values can be found in the EM section of our manual. I believe it is the same no matter the year, but you should check the one specific for your year.
Edit: if you look on page 26 (EM-26) it talks about tightening it down in steps. There is a reason. You want it all to be even. Make sure to do it as explained.

40, then 80, then 100.

the sequence is on pg 3 of the install instructions (should have been included with your spacer)

here's a link to the instructions (pay attention to the upper plenum trq values and sequence as well - you don't want to end up in the same situation).

Remember....INCH POUNDS not FOOT POUNDS. We are tightening small 10MM bolts into a soft ALUMINUM manifold, not wheel lugs onto studs. When I did my MREV, I didn't have a torque wrench handy so I just used a hand driver till it was hand tight (hand driver can't torque over 100 realistically). 100 INCH LBS is only ~8.33 FOOT LBS. Then the next day I check it with a torque wrench and the bolt were between 85 and 105. Even torque is important to ensure the manifold doesn't get warped.

^ First of all DISCLAIMER: I do NOT recommend using an impact on anything engine related ever...
Now that being said, funny story:
I helped my Dad replace the engine in Mom's Suburban. He changed the spark plugs while the engine was still out, and started putting them in with a Dewalt battery impact. I about freaked!!!
"You're crazy in the head!!!"
so he said "Well check them then."
So I went and got a torque wrench and dern if they weren't all within +-5lb of spec.
I just looked at him and shook my head. He laughed at me.
Of course, it is worth mentioning that the Vortec heads are Iron and much more difficult to strip out than Aluminum

^^^ was he using a torque stick?... you can use pneumatic/impact wrenches pretty close to spec with a torque stick.
