I've done it, no problems yet. Make sure they use a plastic adhesion primer prior to painting. Oh and definitely flex agent in the paint.

if they cant or dont think it will make it through a car wash then go take your car to a different shop ..

that should be auto painting 101 .. imo ..

The more I think about that peeling warning, the more I would not even want them to put on my bumper..

Years ago I painted my brown bumpers beige on my beige taurus.. I put on flex agent, then dupont I had put in a spray can by a local paint shop and they never peeled! I didnt even sand them because they were textured..just cleaned them real well beforehand.. I had the car 10 months after that and threw the winter and it never peeled and barely had any chips..

**** im scared of the outcome of this, they already painted the bumper and 3m as well they are installing that this afternoon. They painted the bottom plastic lip on the stock bumper as well that is the same material as the side rockers and rear lip. I think the shop is just being lazy I told the guy what to use the plastic adhesion primer and flex agent in the paint, hes just being a lazy bitch

its too late now - but I'd say find a different shop... I wouldn't trust anything they did if they said their paint job would peel in a car wash

I have a pair of DG painted 04 side skirts - they held up fine... they are sitting in my garage right now - if you are local and DG let me know, I'll sell cheap.

It's already too late now, I guess I will just have to wait for the outcome tomorrow or Thursday. And thanks for the offer but I live in Calgary Canada. Worst comes to worst I can always get them repainted I guess after I Tear Apart that bodyshop, And make sure that everyone in this city knows what kind of job they did!

Yeah, they can be painted but must be prepped well. If they just spray over them they will have problems.
