Unhappy awd blinking?

this is a first for me.
i have ran staggered for about a year now.
255 front and 265 rear.
suddenly philadelphia just hit a snow day.
so, i put on stock wheels on the front only because it was too cold to put on the rear. car performs really good. after 2 days of driving, last night around 3am it just start blinking. is it because i put the stock in the front and the wide wheels in the back? please help me out.
thanks.

yes,

AWD is most likely blinking because of mis match tires. its not about how many days you have been driving its about how fast you were going and for how long.

mines came on when i excedded 45 for 5 + mins. when i stayed under never saw the light.

its the same with TPMS, TPMS shows up if you drive for like 30+ miles.

No

AWD doesn't care how wide your wheels are. You could run 195's up front and 315's out back and as long as they are the same overall diamter, you'd be fine.

Post up your complete tire sizes. The diameters need to be the same for the AWD system to be happy. If there is a difference in diameter, you'll get the light

staggered all around had no problem.
staggered were:
FRONT:245/35/19
REAR: 265/30/19
no problems.

winter setup i did half a$$:
FRONT: 215/55/17
REAR: 265/30/19

so the winter setup was my problem?

the most important thing for AWD systems is the diameter of the entire tire.
usually, the AWD system will let +- few mm pass.

alright. first, find the diameters in mm.

staggered:
FRONT: 245mm/35%/19in
therefore, 245mm wide tire, the height is 35% of its width.
the height represents the length from the top of the rim to the top of the tire.
in this case, it would be 85.75mm (sidewall)

next, the diameter will include the top part of the tire, the rim, then the bottom part of tire (2 sidewalls + rim)

overall diameter of wheel + tire = 85.75*2 + 482.6 = 654.1 mm

REAR: 265mm/30%/19in
height = 79.5mm
overall diameter = 641.6mm

difference = 12.5mm

winter setup
FRONT = 118.25mm
overall = 668.3mm
REAR = 79.5mm
overall = 641.6mm

difference = 26.7mm

as you can see, the different for your winter setup has a bigger difference compared to your staggered. therefore, the AWD system doesnt like it, lights on.

245/35/19 = 25.8"
265/30/19= 25.3"
215/55/17= 26.3"

As you can see, your tire diameters are different. You have a 1" difference now and the AWD doesn't like it.
