G35x: drop front springs, stock rear?

I don't mind the rear wheel gap, but the front drives me crazy. Dropping the front 1" would do the trick. I don't want to deal with the rear shocks prematurely wearing out.

Has anyone done this?

Would this significantly affect how the car drives? (obviously would need alignment

I would think the balance/stance would be off. Might look funny. Why not just do front and rear?

Lots of people do the Coupe rear/ Z front drop, which evens out the tire gap nicely. It's about a .8"R/1.4"F drop. Another option is Coupe front / Sedan Sport rear springs. I'm considering doing this if I don't get the coilovers, and it should do about a .5"R/1"F drop, and even out the gap a little bit better. But you should search the stickies and suspension sections. There's a gigantic thread on lowering the AWD.

Raked stance looks funny? Hell no!

Just get some meatier tires on the rears to fill in the gap there a bit more to match the gap up front...

If it was a raked stance on a RWD car with big fat rear tires it might look okay.

But racked stance on a luxury car?....an AWD car too requiring same size tires?

Plus the headlights will point to the ground.

Hey, if either of you guys are interested in playing around with this idea, I have a front pair of sport coupe springs for cheap.

i read that the 2wd sedan rides .5-.75in lower in front. would it be easy to just swap for those. i've been thinking about this setup on my new (to me) x, because i don't want to go low with my winter car, but i would also like to even it out a bit.

^I don't know anything about the X or if 2wd front springs will work but I have a set if you want them, as well as a front pair of coupe springs as I mentioned in my previous post.
You should probably make sure they'll do what you want first.

I have a pair of coupe springs for sale. They are off my 2006 g35 coupe w/ the sport tune suspension package. They have less than 6k on them since I swapped my springs early. PM if your interested. It will help even out your front and get rid of your front gap. These springs are pretty much new.

i would assume the sedan springs fit, because alot of people uses z/g springs as great lowering combo on their x, i just don't know if the front design of the x makes the front taller (if the springs are the same) or if the sedan springs are shorter
i read that the springs are .5 shorter somewhere in the calling all x's with a lowered suspension topic, but 96 pages is too much to read through again to find the exact info
