Any tips? I currently and just using blue painters tape to hold it in place, but yea once I get perfect fitment how the heck do I make sure it stays that way when I take it off to pull the tape

Once I pull the protective tape, and put it on my car, can you or cant you move it any more? Does that glue/tape have some sort of cure time?

Like I could pull the protective film, stick it on the best I can, then move it a little bit to position it the way I want?

Thanks
some have said 12 hours without driving it, and i would assume its like any tape.. ones u stick it and unstick it.. it wont work the same so you gotta try and aim it good.

Well I for one think it looks really good. The small gap on the ends doesn't look bad. I've seen some that were much worse (thinking they probably ordered 45")

looks pretty good... I would have got it a bit closer to rear edge... but most ppl dont look that close anyway.

So not as bad as you were expecting (or making it sound)...

yea, it looks "OK" but I want it closer to the rear edge lol. I look that close!

Ill keep it on for now, if it still bothers me down the road ill redo it.

it would be real easy to redo... heat up, take off, peel off tape (clean with 3M adhesive remover, then Isobutyl) apply new strip of 3M two sided and re-apply... the tape is the only expense and is cheap (always good to have around anyway).

But it looks good as is...

for me (on my car) the imperfections are only annoying at first - then they are totally ignored and forgotten they are there... I'd redo everything over and over if I couldn't learn to live with it

You'll move on to the next mod and totally forget about this one...

you should lower the MT fuji to the center of the trunk (top of the emblem covering the holes)

so for all those wondering what the right measurement is, i believe it's 1162mm. i came to this conclusion based on the following:

saolin43 ordered 1160mm or 45.669" and noted that it's "about" 1/16" short on each side, or a total of 1/8". so 45.669" + 0.125" = 45.794" - this is on the high end...

thescreensavers ordered 1155.7mm or 45.5" and noted that it was 2/16" short on each side, or a total of 1/4". so 45.5" + 0.25" = 45.75"

screensaver's comment seemed more exact seeing how saolin said "about". either way, convert everything to mm and saolin is saying it should be 1163.18mm. and screensaver is saying it should be 1162.05mm. keep things simple and say 1162mm, which is 45.748" as opposed to the 45.75" (better to be conservative). so worst case you're off by 0.02" which isn't even noticeable.

hope that makes sense!

^I did some similar math and came up with 1163. I think that would probably be safer, because if there is a mm over, you could just sand it a bit.

yea hard to say since everyone gave guesstimates. i agree better to go bigger but if you see saolin's pics, 1160 looks awfully close... alot of it also depends on where you place the spoiler. i'd imagine if you went to the very edge as opposed to 1mm in would make a difference as the trunk probably tapers.

^You're right, the trunk does taper a bit.
