Mod fever hit again ... mixed up !!

Woooow !! crazy monday morning !! Searching ... ? lol i'm completely mixed up now !! Too much info loool

I'm reading about rev-up and non-revup engine so, i have a 2005 sedan X (awd) 5AT and i cant find wich one are in the car...

Why i want to know this ? Cauz i read about plenum spacer ...i read that depend of what kind of revup you have. Plenum spacer alone can be ok or you may have to add a mrev2 to fix your revup problem with the spacer ! I want to know if my G need a mrev2 !

I also read about the airboxe ! I put a z-tube and a K&N drop in filter in my car, so can i upgrade something with a new airboxe (Velocity stack, stillen etc...) or my 05X airboxe are my best choice ?

I think it enough for my brain if you can help me to understand these !!

You have the non-rev engine.

You can upgrade to the rev-up air box.

haha I remember that someone posted this rev-up airbox thread and people went crazy trying to buy the rev-up airbox...

yes !! and the non-revup revs to 6600 rpm !!

The non-revup engine have a "standard" airboxe but it also have a non-revup intake manifold that you can upgrade with a MREV+ or a MREV2 ? i heard you wil have more gain with a Mrev or a spacer versus with the airboxe !

non-revup engine fit all with a Mrev2 + plenum spacer ?

Yes, you have a REV-UP engine and the the MREV manifold should net some decent power. Do that before you order a plenum spacer

To the OP, if your car is an auto, you do not have a Revup motor. For the G35s, the Revup motors only exist in 05+ 6MTs. You can still benefit from the MREV2, but the spacer alone with the iso thermal kit will net you the best power for the price.

The MREV without the spacer will just make your car run richer, but won't give you much power gains at all. I don't care how you break it down, buying the MREV manifold alone for a revup is as much a waste of money as buying a spacer alone.

Add the spacer and you'll see gains of up to 15 lbs of torque.

The MREV will net a stock revup motor 15 lbs of torque, an MREV2 adds a few horses too. The MREV technically doesn't exist anymore, as Motordyne only sells MREV2s now, which is really just a more polished version of the MREV.

i already have a spacer.. made a nice sound.. i plan on buying the mrev2 and upper plenum and then test pipes and a ypipe as soon as i get my tax and school money

Lets be honest, does the mrev2 take a little top end from the rev up motors?
and Why would buying the plenum spacer alone make the car run richer?
Basically I dont want to buy the mrev2 if its just a non rev-up bottom end that got polished and trades the top end horsepower for the orignal DE output

It does trade a little top end for tons of power in the middle. It also drops the point where your motor comes to life and actually starts producing power. If you drive at top speed everyday, then it may be a problem, but for the rest of us, that's where the practical power is. The top end on a stock revup motor isn't that great anyways...

Yes, the MREV is a machined DE plenum, and the MREV2 has been further machined and polished to be smoother for better air flow. If you don't want to pay for it, good luck reproducing it. Many have tried, and so far, none has succeeded with positive results.
