Remove Seat Backrest Leather to upgrade, please advise

Hi,

I am trying to remove the seat backrest leather only, both driver and passenger sides (below the headrest, not the lower cushion), can this be done without removing the seat and just do it all in the car? I saw the two zippers on the back and pulled it up but looks like I have to do a lot more...

please advise,
-Li-Wei

My backrest leather doesn't have the embroider logos (2003.5-on) I found a set which had. Is identical in size everything just want to know how to take this current set off and put the other set on.

the back unzips because of the heating element that goes inside the seat.. otherwise, i doubt the leather comes off the seat all that easily

^I've seen the seat leather only for sale before, so it will come off, but I don't know how much work is involved. I really do want to hear from someone that knows though, because I may want to take mine off and send them off to have suede inserts made.

I would think that you have to remove the headrest, the headrest clips and it should pull off. Dunno about the bottom section of it though. Might have to dissemble the seat in order to change the leather. Too much work for such a small thing IMO.

Hi all, thanks for the input so far. I already start the process so are you guys saying is not possible to just unzip and take off the two clips locking down headrest and the side **** (back adjustment)? while the seat is in the car? so I need to take out the seat? does anyone have a link here for that???

^If you end up tackling this project, take pictures as you do. #1 you can have them when you start to put everything back so you know how it goes. #2 you can share with the rest of us or make a DIY.
