I have an early G from May '02. Never had a problem with the windows. Do most of the coupes have problems?

Re: any problems with power windows?

maybe you should try a different service department. It sounds like they keep screwing up the replacement parts.

Re: any problems with power windows?

Agreed. I think finding another service place for your window issue would do. Same thing happens to my Mercedes. Windows drop constantly in hot weather, 6 times so far for a 98 E class. Window regulators have been replaced 6 times so far. Some mechanic suggested to me that I should find other places to get this issue resolve. I think it may work, but I just told them to bolt up the two rear windows, so I only have two to worry about. Good thing you have a two door. ^_^Y

Re: any problems with power windows?

I've had my 03.5 for a little more than a year and have been browsing this board for that entire time and I haven't heard about anyone here having a problem with windows. Obviously the full door frame makes it easier to design reliable windows.

Gord,

You know that I have an early 2003 also and have never had a
problem with the windows either. My baby has 45K miles on
her now and seems to be really solid. I think it gets better as
it gets older!

Yeah, my car's been great. If they could only fix that damned 'click sound' in the driver's door and the seat rocking, I'd say my experiences with the G have been quite trouble free!

I had the click sound too and they fixed it when they created the window grease problem. When they fixed that it still was rattle free. Anyone else stuff black werather stripping in the windshield/dash joint. That has made my car much better even over nasty bumps

Re: any problems with power windows?

i have used 2 different service departments and it is not them. i believe it is just a poor design. i am just frustrated because i like to keep my cars for a long time, and it does not seem like i am going to keep this one much longer.

Re: any problems with power windows?

I have had problems with my windows on 2 separate occasions, oh wait that is on my Pontiac Grand Prix!!!

My G has had no window problems at all.

On the Pontiac the problem had to do with the window switches shorting out. One bad switch took out the others. At first the problem was intermittent, but as time went on the problem got worse.

Re: any problems with power windows?

Actually there are a lot of posts about this on the coupe forum. Both people with '03's & 04's reporting window problems - motors and regulators. I should know, I have an '03 coupe and had the problem last week!
I would think the coupes and sedans have the same parts in this instance, but it looks like people with sedans are not having the problem (as far as what is stated in this thread).
