Re: 2005 6MT Sedan gets 298 HP!!!
It may be faster, but I dont care for the revised look, they've soften it up to much. taken away its edge in my opinion. Im guessing they made it more luxrious looking to attract older buyers and added more HP to attract the younger buyers.
Besides i just got done dumping 8g's into my sedan. I'm stickin with it for the long haul...

When I last drove a G35 Coupe (having decided against purchase of a G35 Sedan based partly on their implementation of the Man-U-Matic concept) I was struck by how different the behavior of the automatic in manual mode was on the Coupe. (And better – for me.)
Does anyone know if the ’05 Sedan now has the same or similar behavior?
I don't know the current difference between the coupe and sedan manumatic. However, I have heard from a very reliable source that the 05 G35 will have automatic rev-matching on downshifts. When you downshift and the lower gear will require a rev increase, the transmission will increase your revs to match the lower gear, rather than blocking the shift.
Sorry if this at all confusing. I am a prospective G35 owner and have been reading the forums to get info on this car. I do know the above little tidbit of info and wanted to share it with the group.

"However, I have heard from a very reliable source that the 05 G35 will have automatic rev-matching on downshifts. "
From the 350Z release:
5-speed automatic transmission features downshift rev matching
I don't see this anywhere in the G35 release info I've read so far - but I'd hope you are correct that the G will have this as well . . .

Re: 2005 6MT Sedan gets 298 HP!!!
Did it ever occur to any one that the sedan exuast is a single setup. Well if they are going to give the manual close to 300hp and sedan close to 280hp does that mean the sedan is getting a true Y pipe setup and or a true dual exaust setup? I did see the pics so I think the true dual exaust is out the question but how can they get more power out of the current exaust setup?

As dirrtybear said..
Case in point... G35 coupe
The Stillen for the sedan, as most of you know, is dual up to a single common muffler with two outlets. It also incorporates an "X" piping arrangement instead of the "Y" pipe to maintain pressure balance between the two cylinder manifolds.
