My 03 had a slight OC problem when I got it, but it's gotten better
I've been running Casterol full synthetic 10-30 and a good filter. It had a crap Nissan filter on it when I got it

Me too. I haven't washed my G since november.

Every time i get some good weather to get out and hand wash it...there's no point because a snowstorm is coming the next day.

My 04 6sp burned oil, burned enough I just got a new long block put in it and got the car back new years eve, 4 yrs to the day of buying it. I also had the clutch replaced & light weight flywheel installed. The car had 51k miles on the engine & clutch, clutch didn't have much life left, glad I invested in one while they had it torn apart. I could produce maintenance records from when I bought the car w/20k miles, but Infiniti could not produce any maintenance records from the time the car was put in service.

Atleast hose it off. Dont let your car sit covered in salt.

Hard to hose it off when it's sub-32 degrees and the hose is frozen.

Actually, we are getting a monsoon tonight and tomorrow...2+ inches of rain. I gotta drive 50 miles on the highway in it...so that should do a great job of washing the salt off on top and underneath.

This sounds like a better plan. If I were in the market for another G, I'd skip past the 05/06 RevUps and straight for the 2nd gen G with the HR. Better car in every aspect. The 6MT is slightly better too.

However, if it were me, I'd be looking for a BMW 330 ZHP. BMWs aren't that expensive to maintain assuming you stick with the 3-series cars and your a DIYer. 3-series BMWs are pretty easy to wrench and the aftermarket is limitless.

My wife and I have owned a 98 LGT wagon for over 9 years now. Her wagon has 116K miles and hasn't popped a HG yet I attribute it to the fact that ionly two women have driven the car over it's 12 year life. The car rarely sees 4K rpms. I pray everything holds together until March when we get her an 08ish Outback. Her car has been super reliable.
