I would absolutely buy that car after checking the car. dont let the dealer bull**** with you, inspect the car and if he doesnt let u check it out, then somethings fishy. ALSO make sure there hasnt been any paintwork on the car, its pretty easy to spot

it makes sense that they don't want you monkeying around with the car until you have made a preliminary commitment via a "subject to" deposit.

get the car inspected, and if it checks out then jump at it!

pull the carfax and get the car independently inspected. if it's coming from florida, it can have water damage if it was in a flood. the car looks complete cleaned, engine and everything, so there is no way to tell what condition it was in when the dealer got it just by cursory inspection.

the car is listed on ebay, and it checks out on Ebay's AutoCheck.

Carfax and other such companies that collect similiar informationo are not always reliable. Only reported accidents and major changes that go through the DMV/ Insurance company will show up. Any accidents that happen that don't go through insurance and are settled between people and cash, will not show up. My old car was in 3 accidents, none of which were reported to my insurance company.

it makes sense, since its like a carmax dealer.
they want me to put down a deposit then take it to a mechanic.
so I don't mess anything up.
But I agree, it threw me for a loop when he said I couldn't take it apart.

Hah. Sam, don't play with me.
I might really take you up on that offer.

I now know what to look for in a G. Thanks for everyones help.
That specific car, although VERY beautiful, wasn't for me.

Funny story while test driving. The dealership hands you the keys and you get to go alone. Very cool to go out alone and do what you want. Upon inspection, the body looked real nice. Just like the pictures except dirty from rain. the head lights were super hazed. While I was driving it, I was in 2nd and a VERY loud Grinding noise happened. I thought it was driver error and switched gears. Nothing made the noise stop. I stopped and looked around the car. Pulled out again and the grinding noise was still present. I pulled into a parking lot and noticed the front dam ( Air valance ) was hanging off the front bumper scraping the ground. Took it back and told the sales man that I didn't want it. I thought about it over the weekend and then signed up here and 6mt.net today. I could have had that sexy beast on saturday but I chose not to purchase it. As I said in an earlier post, the tires looked bald and I wouldn't have the means to replace them. Thanks again ever one.
