Re: Side Marker Blinker mod

Also the passenger side wire to keep normal and blinking light is green on my car on both side not purple on the passenger as some directions had it. I wonder if there are supposed to be a couple colors they can use for different wiring?

Re: Side Marker Blinker mod

I thought that the green wire with yellow stripe was the target. However, I was unable to find the coresponding purple wire on the other side. Closer inspection revealed a green wire with a white stripe located in a bundle higher up and deeper into the well. In this case, I did find a coresponding purple wire on the passengar side.

I did this mod just last weekend - worked like a champ! Clear corners are on the way too!!

Re: Side Marker Blinker mod

hmmm - I wonder what blinking clears look like - I guess that's US spec right. I think my 01.5 passat had clears with a yellow bulb..dont bimmers have yellow lenses with a white bulb.

Is there a DOT requirement for blinking side lights or anything to be concerned about? If a cop stops me for these lights i'd probably get in a lot of trouble with my reaction. Although my ticket to pullover ratio has dropped to about 30% as I show respect and dont make excuses, that would make me lose it.

Tnx for the info. Has anyone actually layed out the procedure? I.E. what wires go where and any other helpful stuff. It's a mod that I definitely will do.

Streaker:

There definitely are good descriptions around - try a search on blinker mod (or something similar) here and on freshalloy.com, and you should find what you want.
