I also went ahead and got those tires today. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...14185&sw=false

They are kinda loud, but they have great control in the rain so far. It was pooring when I left with them. They hook up good in the rain, and stop good. So I was impressed with the performance.

Traction control is cool. I don't have that in my 91 Camaro.

Oh and the 350z stuff is on a 06 with 60k. They buy totaled cars and part them out. So I could even go look at it before they take the stuff off if I didn't trust them. But since I'm local I don't think they would try anything.
^easy. Color dots on the springs indicate if they're from a Z or not. Also, numbers stamped into the shocks.

OP, I haven't shopped shocks lately, but you could probably pick up those Z springs for $75 and new basic aftermarket shocks/struts for less or at least close to $400.

Those tires are loud, and will only get louder as they age. That's the tradeoff for being so good in the rain. But you live in Texas, not Oregon, so get something that's better on dry pavement.

And the size you got might cause you some problems with your VDC. They're about 3.3% larger than stock, and anything above 3% is questionable. I know you wanted a wider tire, but a 235/50-17 would have been a far better choice (same diameter as stock). If it were me, not only would I get the correct size, but I'd return those tires too. The road noise will grow tiresome very quickly.

How would it effect the vdc? And btw I do get a lot of rain here, so I need a tire good in the rain too. Part of my choice was based from here,
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...mparison_tests
And what tire would you recomend? Thanks.

Well I decided to take those tires back like BuckeyeInMI advised. Not just because thier loud but because I also found some 20/8.5 wheels I liked. Discount Tire in my book is alright. I also picked up that 06 brake set up, and they look huge.

It would affect the VDC because one of the things it measures is the difference in rotation from side to side. You'll naturally have some differences in turns, normal or aggressive, but the VDC has enough margin of error so it doesn't kick on anytime you want to turn a corner. Having tires that are too large or too small accentuates that speed difference, which can cause it to kick on more often. Relative to stock sizes, tires that are too small will require more revolutions for the outside tire to keep up with the inside, which can indicate that that wheel is slipping. Tires that are too large will require fewer revolutions, which can indicate that the car is understeering, or plowing through a turn, thus kicking on the VDC.

That's the theory anyway, AFAIK. You won't necessarily have "problems" with the VDC, but you'll probably notice it kicking on more than with stock sized tires.

I bought the Bridgestone RE760 Sports last summer and they've been awesome, rain or shine. They came in just ahead of your BFG's on that test, but I think they should have been at least one higher on that list than 4th. IMO they're much better than the Kumho's at #3 when you consider how horrible the Kumho's were in the rain. "Diabolical" was the term they used, but that test gave extra weight to dry condition driving, where the Kumho excelled, so they moved ahead of the Bridgestones. I didn't consider the Kumho because they don't make the size I needed (245/45-18), but I wouldn't have considered them because of their performance on a wet track. Based on that list, I think I got the best tire for me. I don't trust Hankook enough to buy theirs, and I've never been a fan of Dunlop. The S.Drive's and the Michelin's were the only other tires I considered, but I thought the RE760's were better than either for the cost.

EDIT: Just saw your reply above. I think you'll be happy with a better tire. And I'm getting an 06 setup too on the brakes. Can't wait to be relatively dust-free!

He is near houston which is close to he gulf. Its either hot and sticky with lots of humidity and rainy bout 65-75% of the year. anywhere else in texas is a different story so a good rain tire is a +.

I got the 20/8.5 wheels http://velocitywheel.com/wheels.asp?...=187&ClassID=2
on with the falken fk 452 tires (245/35)
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...=TCOINT&cs=245
The loud road noise is gone. That's all they had in stock so my only choice unless I wanted to wait 3 days for an order again. But I am really happy with them so far. I can definetly feel the road now. Probably not the best tire but it'll have to do for now. Now when the weather gets better I'm gonna do the brakes.

Just fyi for anybody that needs any parts, this Nissan Unlimited in Houston is a good place. Family owned and operated. I met them all today and they were awsome.

I was gonna get those z springs but I like the way it looks just the way it is. May be a little later I'll do that. I got an alignment this morning and they told me they maxed out the camber in the rear and it's still a hair off.
I don't know why that is but they also said the manufacturer doesn't specify a spec for camber or caster either. What the heck does that mean?

I also want to say that I really like the handling now with these wheels. I think if I do invest in anything else at the moment I'll get some better sway bars.
