I'm prepping my 06 setup right now. One of the rear calipers had a tiny hole in the piston boot, and both front calipers have been sitting in someone's garage for several years, and the boots are very dried out and cracking, so I'm just going to rebuild all 4 calipers. But while I've got them apart I'm going to paint them. Nothing fancy since they're just OEM, so probably silver or black. Also going to paint the rotors so they don't show any rust. I'll use the old pads to remove any paint I get on the contact area, then install some new ones.

Cool. Let me know what you think when you get yours done.

I have a steering wheel shake between 60-80mph. It did it with the stock wheels and tires also. It's not to bad. When I take my hands off the wheel I can see the steering wheel bounce back and forth (left to right) real fast. When I put my hands back on the wheel it stops. Anyone know what it is?

I got the 06 rear brake swap done. Kinda sucked because alls I needed was the caliper brakets (calipers are the same), but I had to buy the calipers, and rotors from Nissan Unlimited. They wouldn't break up the set. And one of the rotors was bad anyway and I ended up buying the rotors new. So total cost of the rear swap was $275 with the salvage yard stuff and new rotors. I got the Hawk HPS pads coming for the front and rear.

I first got the front hawk pads on and I loved them. It was definetly more of a progressive feel. It got rid of the touchyness I didn't like. About a week later I did the rear with the hawk pads and it kinda tightened back up. It's still way better to me, but I kinda wish I would of left the oem pads in the rear I just liked that balance better. All in all, a great upgrade.

Anyone know what I should look for on my steering wheel shake? I'm thinking tie rods, but can't find any play in the outers and can't really see the inners with that boot on. What about the rack n pinion? Could it be wore out? I don't know may be I should just have my wheels rebalanced first and go from there.

Did you do the front swap with the brakes yet? I am looking to do the front and rear upgrade and found calipers but wasn't sure if u needed to change the brakets ? If so does anyone know where you can get just the brakets?

Yes you have to have the brackets, and rotors of course. That's why I went to the salvage yard, unless you wanna go to the dealer
