Does wind blow your G around a lot?

Is it just me or does cross-wind really blow these cars around? With my skinny 17" tires, the car can be a decent handful. Maybe it has to do with my car's relatively aggressive alignment and poor roads we have in Kansas City, but still, I'd think a very aerodynamic car like a G wouldn't get blown around like an SUV.

Haven't noticed the wind blowing it around, but the roads with the grooves cut in them pull my car all over the place. Never noticed this with any of my previous cars.

I guess some of it probably has to do with how responsive the steering and chassis is. With my Z/coupe springs, Z shocks, and rear swaybar, the car is very responsive and minor wind corrections can make the car a bit twitchy.

You mean the wind outside the car?

I notice it a bit and my setup's not too difference from yours (I have front sway). Can't recall if it's better or worse when I go from 17s to 19s or vice versa. I'll try to notice.

Sonny, my experience has been that groove-following has more to do with the tires.

I guess I'm Sonny?

I figured it was probably the tires. Just never had it happen in any other car I've owned.

My car is pretty solid in the wind. I can see SUV swerving back/forth and my car is tracking straight.

Oops, yeah, sorry OK, I was looking at the wrong post, thought it was Sonny35 who posted about the grooves.

Regarding the wind, I guess I don't notice much since it's minimal compared to my SUV/trailer unit, or the previous one a truck and camper. That can get scary in the wind.

It is aerodynamic, but only when the wind is coming at it from the front.

Crosswinds will push it around. I notice on windy days mine gets blown around, but nothing i can't handle with 1 hand on the wheel. Mine moves no more than any other car i've ever driven.

How much are you moving around?

^ what he said. i can feel it when its very windy outside, but its not a big deal. i think i notice it more because the G is very stable otherwise.

Same here, one guy thought I was trying to swerve into him!

+1.... With my G slammed... i dont even notice it... i was driving a tacoma across the I-10 in arizona and i had to steer right when the wind was coming in from the right just to go straight... it was scarey.

Mine's still mostly stock and I actually remember remarking about how I didn't even realize it was super windy - high wind warning - windy, until I got out of my car at work

Yeah. I noticed the wind blows these around a good bit. Way more than my old Trans Ams.... but that's not nearly the surface area or profile cross-section of a Sedan.
