Interest Thread - Alum. Washer Fluid Tube

I'm looking at having aluminum replacements made for the white plastic OEM tube used for the wiper fluid. I posted a thread in the coupe section and thought I would post one here as well. I'm hoping everything will mount the same as the coupes. Even if it doesn,t, it shouldn't be too hard to get a sedan one made Once the coupes are made, I'd send one to someone with a sedan to test it.

Here's the post and link.

I've decided that I'll be making an aluminum replacement. I should hopefully have the prototype soon. If there is enough interest for them, I will be offering them. It would be offered in non-polished and polished. I'm not sure about the price right now, but I will post a rough one when I know if a mod OK's it.

Installation is fairly simple. It's just a matter of taking out your passenger headlight, unscrewing 1 screw on the fluid tube bracket, and pulling the tube out.

Update #1

I have received a prototype and will be working on finishing the last steps this week. They will be ready for sale in a week hopefully. Below is a picture of the cap. Please keep in mind that it still has to be polished. I will hopefully have some installed pics by the end of the week

It's the tube with the blue plastic cap on it where you pour your wiper fluid into. It would come with a new metal cap to replace the blue one as well.

Ah, so you are talking about the actual fluid bottle and filler neck and cap?

WHile i'm not interested myself (car is a DD...only pop the hood for maintainence) that's a very good idea and I'm sure would look sharp.

The only thing that would be replaced is the actual white plastic tube. It just slides into the fluid tank and seals with an o-ring. Also, I'll be figuring out who will be the tester once I have a prototype ready to ship out

In your other thread, you mentioned needing to remove the headlight to get to the tube. It would be alot easier if you just removed the radiator overlow tank and the one screw holding the tube in place, then just pulling up on the tube to remove it.

Always like seeing new ideas and product for the G so looking forward to what you have coming out

Thanks for the tip, didn't even realize that I just had my bumper and headlights off doing my quads and didn't really pay too much attention. Looking at it more closely now, installation might be as simple as just removing the 1 screw, pulling it out, and putting the new one in, assuming there's enough clearance.

I'm also working on a few other things right now that I'm pretty sure you guys will like

Very close to having a prototype ready. When that's done, I will post some pics. Also, some good news on pricing. It's looking like it will cost more around $120 I can't guarantee that price right now but will hopefully have a set price on Monday

Just an update for the sedan guys. I should have prototype in hand very soon, there were some mix-ups with the measurements. I'll be test fitting it on a sedan hopefully within a week.

As for the cap, would you guys prefer a basic design or something more complex? The basic cap is ready to go and would cost around $20-30 less than a more complex cap.

I polished the upper plenum but that's it so far. It turned out alright but I'm just going to have someone else polish the rest of the parts.

Not too sure on how much polishing will be. I should have a quote in a week or so. If you want, I'll PM it to you. I could also see if he could do a group buy.
