You guys are abolutely right. If I'm on any gear between 2K and 3.5K RPM and I push the gas, it starts slipping. I don't even have to floor it to see it. I called the Dealer today and they asked me to bring it in this Saturday. We'll see what happens. I have a feeleing they will give me **** because of the slight mods and the fact that I haven't done most service at their dealer. Do you guys know if a cold air intake and a catback exhaust would void the warranty?

^ no those mods will not void a warranty.

If you get up off your seat to move the pedals (which is what you'd have to do), you will be placing lots of stress on the bottom bracket of the bike. I do agree that a full throttle acceleration needs to be performed to check the clutch, but it doesn't have to be done in the way you described which can be harmful to the engine.

The other issue there is that the oil pressure will be too low at that rpm to create good protection for such a high load condition. Maximum oil pressure is achieved at 2100 (that's if I remember correctly).
Yes you are right. Perhaps I should have indicated an RPM vs a speed. In my mind i was thinking that would be at least 2500+ RPM when i wrote that but if 4th at 30 puts it at something low like 1100RPM then, no he shouldn't do that and i need to retract my statement.

I was using a different vehicle's gearing for my correlation.

I took my car to the Infiniti dealer. They said the Clutch, Flywheel and Master cylinder have to be replaced. They quoted me for $2640. I told them to hold off 'cause I think it's too damn expensive. They also said the flywheel can not be resurfaced, therefore it must me replaced. Do you guys know if that is true? I think I can get it done for half the price elsewhere.

Looks like I definitely need to replace both clutch and flywheel on my '05 sedan. At least that's what I was told at the dealer. In your opinion, what's the best combo out there? I'm not planning on going FI, but I could change my mind in the future. Please share your experience. TNX

resurfacing a dual-mass can be tricky, and many machine shops turn them away. your dealer is not completely snowing you on that one. but their prices are ludicrous (as per usual).

i would expect the master cylinder to be covered undr warranty so don't pay for that.

as for aftermarket kits check the TECH section, drivetrain forums.

I think I'll for the ACT Streetlite flywheel, at 16.9lb should not create a lot of noise. As for the clutch, I'm considering a Exedy Stage 1, which is one step up from OEM. Other candidates are Cluthmasters HD Stage 1 and Competition SCC Stage 2. Any advice? Thanks.
