Iam thinking about getting 280Hp then stopping with the mods, what do you think the best way to get there is?

 

Stillen claims there Catback Exhaust gives 22 hp or around there. that would put you over 280 hp.... Unless your talking about @ the wheels HP. Then your going to need a supercharger or turbo.

I want 280HP so I have about the same power of the coupe

 

I'm considering mods next spring when I get my tax return. I'll prolly go with Stillen exhaust, Z-tube and a new plenum (can't remember who just put one out - it's supposed to be better than the Crawford). Should be good for about 285 at the flywheel.

what does it matter? the only reason they gave the coupe more power, was because it weighs more. 280 is not the magic number. If u are willing to do more, by all means do more.

 

Based on mods I've done so far on my sedan and their supposed gains, I guestimate 290hp at the crank -- I'm dynoing in a couple of weeks so I'll know if the mods live up to their promises.

Please let us know the results. I am always interested in scientific evidence instead of dealer claims and the infamous "Butt Dyno". : )

 

According to the technician at the dealership, there is no blatant difference between the coupe and the sedan except for the ECM. I do not know if there is or not, but am just repeating his words. So to mod the sedan to get 280 a good first step is to get a new chip.

If anyone can confirm or dispute this, let us know...

 

For one, the coupe has a different exhuast system. Plus the airbox is setup for performance while the sedan is setup to muffle the sound which loses HP. Im sure there some difference in the ECU also.
