Plan on getting a G35 sedan..have a couple of questions

I am looking into getting a 2004-06 G35 sedan x in the next couple of months. Are there any major differences in the years? I noticed that those years have high milage, how long do these engines last? If i plan on doing some modding/enging building in the future how good is the aftermarket for these cars? Thanx.

Yes, Long Time, Fairly Good (lots of 350Z stuff fits), search around a little, and also welcome

i was looking for some personal opinions tho. I am also looking at a Audi A4 and Srt-4 neon. Of course the SRT-4 is not in the same league as far as class but i love the raw power.

^Well since you asked about how long the engine will last, you're obviously concerned about longevity, so go ahead and scratch the SRT-4 off the list, it will start giving you problems in short order.
Audi's can be nice, but when you have problems with it, you'll have a German repair bill

2005/2006 have updated body and interior, and the 2006 X models got bigger brakes compared to the 04/05 -- search that up in the sticky above.

I recommend you look for a lower-mileage 2006 X with service records and a clean Carfax or similar.

And fergawdsakes don't buy a POS Neon...

Also, personal opinions aren't required for most of your questions.

But since you're new, I'll help you out a little.

Are there any major differences in the years? The biggest changes are in 05. The look of the front was slightly redesigned, also none of the body parts fwd of the doors are interchangeable unless you do all of them. (Fenders, bumper, grill, hood and headlights)
The rear bumper is interchangeable with a little work (I have an 03 with a 05/06 bumper, and another member on here has a 05 with an 03/04 bumper, if you want more info, LMK)
I noticed that those years have high milage, how long do these engines last? If i plan on doing some modding/enging building in the future how good is the aftermarket for these cars?
There were a lot of small changes in 05, really too many to list.

I noticed that those years have high milage, how long do these engines last? I have 116,500 right now with absolutely zero engine problems. I drive fairly hard too (bounced off the rev limiter a couple times yesterday chasing my cousin's track built 350Z around LOL)
If you want to see some others who have made it well over 100,000: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...-g35-here.html

If i plan on doing some modding/enging building in the future how good is the aftermarket for these cars? Like I said before, lots of 350Z stuff works on the sedan. Headers, intakes, tunes, shift kits, etc...
There is soooooo very much information on aftermarket options on this forum, I would have to quote thousands of pages to answer that question.
Here's the first two you should look at though:

If you can afford it, my recommendation is to buy an '06

I agree, buy an '06.

Also, when I was shopping it was between the G35, A4, TL, and S60R. All have their positives and negatives. The A4 has reliability issues, TL is FWD, and S60R also has reliability issues. The G35 gave me the styling, performance, and reliability I was looking for. The fact that it was CPO didn't hurt either.

06+ X. Go for that. You get the best of everything.
