Re: Trunk fix???
Ok so i got my G about 3 months ago, 2 Days after i got it the trunk stoped working, Long story short i found the 9 wires 5 of which were broken, I soldiered/ heat shrunk the broken wires, I try to use my trunk as little as possible, Ive maybe used it 10 times since it was fixed, AND IT DOSENT WORK AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone got a longterm fix for the trunk issues? Or should i sell this over priced underbuilt p.o.s before something else breaks?

If it makes you feel any better, I had to do mine 3 times now. Once by the dealer under warranty and two by myself. Make sure the heat shrink that you use isn't really thick and stiff that may cause the wire to fray at the end of the heat shrink. That is what happened with the dealer fix.

Welcome to the club!!!
I just had mine repaired yesterday. It's the second time for it to happen.
First time was under warranty and the stealership said that they replaced the entire wire harness...what BS I found out last night. They had my car for two days, never replaced any harness..just replaced the wires from the trunk/lights into the main harness.
Had it corrected within two hrs at my mechanics place. He wasn't too impressed with my former dealership to say the least.
Bigwilly, did you deal with Agincourt to get it repaired?

trunk release repair
My trunk release failed due to broken wires in harness. Dealer "repaired" using solder and tape, but this failed again in a couple of weeks. I repaired it again myself using plastic in-line splice crimp connectors you can get at Radio Shack or Home Depot (about $2 for 10). I then used black friction electrical tape to wrap up the wires and connectors. This has worked well for a couple of months. This is a more durable fix since the dealer's wire soldering job came loose. You shouldn't solder 16 gage wire ends together!

Pop your trunk, You will see where the harness goes into the trunk lid on the right side, Peel back the harness cover and check for damaged wires, Id also like to thank hyatt infiniti in calgary alberta canada for using all the same color wires to fix it!! nothing like 9 broken red wires.
