Has anyone had to remove the two torsion bars? The short ends go through holes in the "pipe" at the front of the seat. That "pipe" or tube is welded to a couple of brackets. The weld on mine broke. I had it welded today, but for the life of me, I can't get the 2nd torsion (spring) bar into its hole.

Anyone got an idea? I'll try and post a photo. See the tube? There are 2 springs poking through it. I can't get the damn 2nd one in. HELP

Not sure where my photo went. Maybe I have to be a paying member?

^Did you post a photo and it didn't work?

You don't have to be a paying member to post photos.

I tried posting it. Wouldn't take. I'll try again.

Tried again several times. jpg, png, etc. No help. "upload failed".

Saturday evening, I'm at my wit's end... I've tried everything, down to putting a hose clamp on it to help get it into the right position to go through both holes in the tube. I even ground a point on the tip to make it find the hole easier. Finally, I call my son in law to see if he can see what I'm missing. He comes over Sunday morning to lend a hand, and as I'm showing him what they are, where they belong, and what methods I've been trying, the 2nd bar simply snaps into place.

Frustrating, but I believe I saved myself about $1200. And it's done well.

My seat gave me issues as well but not in the same spot as the pictures shown.

My problem was with the bar that adjusts the front part of the seat height.

I am VERY lucky that my dad has been a welder for 20+ years.
He took a look at it and within 20 min we had it fixed.

If you know someone who welds it shouldn't take more than 10 min if you have the seat out.

The round tubing that runs across the front, right? Holds 2 torsion bars? Neighbor 2 doors down has Mig, Tig and arc welders, so he had me fixed up in just a few minutes. Hardest part was getting the torsion springs back in the bar.

Thanks for the post.

Weld it!

Just had my drivers seat pulled welded and reinstalled for $150.00. No brainer.

My 04 has had a rocking seat since I bought it so now I'm going to take mine apart and see if this is the problem. Thanks for sharing!

Does anybody have good pics of the right side of the driver's seat?

I'm getting a slight rock in it but its coming from the left side and not the right. I'm guessing there's a similar bracket design. Hopefully it's not broken since it's not that bad yet.

I have that "rock" where the seat seems to lift up about a quarter of an inch and it doesnt rock back and forth so its not annoying so far.

But I do notice it once or twice a week. or when accelerating really hard.

03' Sedan"Rocking Seat" with Pics

Just had my seat frame welded (car is still at the shop). My seat was pretty busted up so I hope the welds hold. Take a look at the destruction. I will post pics of the repair when I get the car back in 2 days.
