Are 03/04 gauge clusters swappable with 05/06?

I've had this on the list to do for some time. The gauges in the 03-04 looks like trash compared to the newer years.

Looks like a fun project.

I'd just be concerned with incorrect mileage since there is no way to change it. Might pose headaches later on when you go to sell the vehicle or if you try to honor any sort of warranty since the mileage number has quite of few legal implications riding on it.

^ Why would you not just swap it back. And you can go to the dealer and they can put the correct mileage on the cluster for you. A member Tom_z did it.

Doesn't sound like something every dealership would do really. They make themselves liable to fraud if they change mileage around on vehicles.

I'd def call up a dealer and ask them about this before assuming they will do it.

That's what I was thinking. How would they know the mileage you were having them set the new odometer to was correct?

they "can" do it... but I dont know if they "will" do it in this instance...

I had instrument cluster replaced in F150, but legally they have to keep your vehicle while they wait for new one - they can't order one without mileage (in has to be programed) - so you cant drive the car while waiting for it to come in (so the mileage is the same)... That's how Ford did it anyway.

I'm not sure a dealer would do it for something like this though - they might have some federal regulations that only allow for faulty instrument cluster?
