Aluminum pedals

I Just got my pedal set from everythingg35.com today and read the install DIY (btw was very helpful) Question is that it also came with the e-brake pedal that doesnt fit at all. Does anyone know how this goes on?

Re: Aluminum pedals

I just krazy glued mine over the original. Make sure you let the glue harden well.

Re: Aluminum pedals

I think you have to glue it on. I remember reading this somewhere and they were recommending the use of 3m adhesive. I don't remember where I saw it though. I'll post the link if I find it.

Re: Aluminum pedals

I took a razor blade and cut the edges of the ebrake pedal
so that it would fit over the original e-brake pedal. Then took
a good epoxy glue and glued it on. This method works very
well. Some people attach with nut and bolt.

Re: Aluminum pedals

I did what Cato did. Pull off the stock rubber pedal. Trim the rubber on the new pedal so it will fit up snug. Glue it on.

I know I'm dredging up old news, but I just used this thread today. I finally got around to installing my Nismo aluminum pedal kit and I couldn't remember how to install the e-brake pedal. Fifteen minutes searching yielded this thread. The epoxy is setting as we speak.

I thought about that, but the epoxy seemed easier. Turns out it was some work to trim the rubber from the back of the new pedal, but well worth the effort.

I too went the glue route....about a year or more ago...hasnt budged a bit since then.

I removed the rubber with a utility knife...seemed to be the easiest way for me.

For those still doing these installs....the rubber you remove from the back of the ebrake pedal is only the lip that would normally wrap around the metal base itself. (hope that makes sense). After applying the glue, I used a pair of vise grips and let it sit overnight.

I just boiled my aluminum brake cover to get it soft and then fit it over the medal boot it didn't take as long to get it to fit as I thought it would. No glue or drilling necessary work smarter not harder! The gas pedal was a whole nother story took me about 30 minutes to get that one on.

Perry,
They are talking about the pedal that goes over the emergency brake. It is basically just the aluminum clutch pedal but does complete the look. The kits the everythingG35 sold had this addl. piece. They recommend using 3M adhiesive (sp??) tape - not included. I used a lot of hot glue after my first attempt (5 min epoxy) failed. 6 weeks and it is still going strong.

Good catch I didn't even know there was a piece for the emergency brake guess I will have to go with out since I already got the pedals w/o the emergency brake
