I did this too, but not before liberally applying some Goo Gone.

I rolled both before and after applying Goo Gone and it was a lot easier for me without the goo gone making everything all slippery..

also, another tip for the rolling... microfiber towel wrapped around your thumb works wonders..

^Yes it does.

WD-40 works too. I've never needed a heat gun for any of the cars I've done.

Took the door moldings off my trans am with WD-40 and TLC.

Yep, WD-40 works good too if you don't have goo gone laying around.

Anytime a care comes into shop for paint, i just use a flexible putty knife to take the emblems and moldings off. If careful can be taken off without scratchs. Also i use the 3m eraser to take the adhesive off.

I still can't believe how many people like goo gone - I hate that ****. It sucks.

3M adhesive remover (its a spray in a red can, hard to find these days)... works better than anything else I've ever used.

Floss here...wd40 as a lube.

Then i had to buff as my fingernail left tiny scratches in my fragile OB paint. On a sunny day, all you saw.

A year later, and you can't even see it anymore..everything's blended together after a few buffs

Started off doing this but wound up using some goo gone and a couple of those wooden chopsticks you get at restaurants (not previously used!!). Worked like a charm.

It's function is used as a lubricant:

"The long term active ingredient is a non-volatile, viscous oil which remains on the surface, providing lubrication"

Quoted from here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WD-40
